CUET UG 2024 News

NTA is conducting the CUET UG 2024 exam in CBT mode from May 21 to May 24 at numerous exam centres in India and abroad. The CUET 2024 computer-based test is ongoing for 17 CUET domains and 31 languages. Meanwhile, The Education Minister of Assam, Ranon Pegu has requested NTA to increase CUET exam centres in Barak Valley.

“I am writing to bring to your attention the issue faced by students living in Barak Valley districts in Assam regarding appearing for the CUET-UG commencing on May 15 2024.” Says the official letter.

The Education Minister also stated that despite having three districts in Barak Valley of Assam, there is only one CUET exam centre in Silchar.

"Barak Valley of Assam state has three districts: Cachar, Karimganj, and Hailakandi. All the Colleges in these districts are affiliated with Assam University, located at Silchar (Cachar), which is a Central University. There is only one Exam Centre for the CUET exam at Silchar." The statement further added.

Consequently, students are going through intense stress and anxiety due to the distance and logistical complexities involved in travelling to exam centres for Bengali and EVS at Agartala (Tripura), Shillong (Meghalaya), and Guwahati.

“Therefore, I request that you hold the Exam for Bengali and EVS at Silchar like the other subjects. I hope you will take the necessary action in this regard as soon as possible, he requested in the letter.
