As per reports, the option will be available exclusively to students who have completed all course requirements except for one paper. The 10-point moderation will be imposed in addition to any grace marks already applied.
Delhi University is reportedly considering instituting an exceptional moderation of up to ten points for students who need help to complete their degree due to a single paper failure. The relief is for students with genuine reasons for failing the paper.
The option will be available exclusively to students who have completed all course requirements except for one paper. The issue will be discussed in the university’s Academic Council meeting on Thursday. The 10-point moderation will be imposed in addition to any grace marks already applied.
Students who have already failed the paper through the university’s “special chance examinations” may be subjected to the 10-mark provision. “The situation becomes complicated for students who have completed all course requirements except for a single paper due to unforeseen circumstances.” In such instances, the university may consider awarding exceptional moderation for a single left-over paper,” according to the Academic Council meeting agenda, as reported by DQ India.
Under this scheme, the students will be awarded an additional 10 marks in the subject, enabling them to meet the passing criteria and obtain their degree.
DU contemplates granting students unique opportunity for exam
The university is also considering granting students who have over their time restriction, a unique opportunity to appear in the remaining papers necessary to obtain the degree. However, it will only be for students who have used all their time slots to take these extra exams in 2021-22 and 2022-23.
