The last date to apply for the Vaibhav Fellowship is March 15, 2024.
DST India invited applications from Indian diaspora in Science & Technology under VAIBHAV Fellowship to collaborate with Indian institutions and enrich them with their unique thoughts & experiences in S&T.
The Fellowship will support them to spend up to two months in a year for maximum 3 years in the Indian institution they select for collaboration, said Abhay Karandikar, Secretary of DST India on X.
The objective is to foster collaboration between scientists of Indian Diaspora with Indian Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), Universities, and public funded scientific institutions.
The benefit includes Fellowship of INR 4 lakh for supporting the fellow to spend 2 months annually for up ot 3 years in an Indian institution chosen for collaboration. The beneficiaries include Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), and currently emplyed abroad.
Vaibhav Fellowship Eligibility: (for Scientists)
1. The applicant should be Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), currently living abroad.
2. The applicant must have obtained Ph.D/M.D/M.S degree from a recognized University.
3. Applicant must be a researcher engaged in an overseas academic / research / industrial organization with proven track record of research & development working in the top500 QS World University Ranking.
4. Plan to pursue research work for minimum of 1 month to a maximum of 2 months a year in a research institution / academic institution in India, spread over 3 years.
5. Applicants can submit their proposal only once in a calendar year.
Vaibhav Fellowship Eligibility: (for Institutions)
1. Higher Educational Institutions / University ranked in top 200 in NIRF overall rankings and having NAAC ‘A” grade (3.0 and above) and scientific institutes.

- Qualification Certificate
- Undertaking Certificate by the applicant and NOC from their parent institute
- Endorsement Certificate from Host Institute
