During Delhi University’s 100th Convocation, degrees were awarded to 138020 UG, PG and 659 PhD students who completed their degrees in 2022-23.

While addressing the DU's 100th Convocation as the Chief Guest, Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar told the newly graduated students that you have the key to Viksit Bharat@ 2047, unlock it.

In his detailed speech, he said that this centenary convocation in the 75th year of the Republic is much more than just a ceremony. This is a launch pad for all of you. It is somewhat similar to the ISRO rocket launch pad at Sriharikota. This safe launch pad will take you not only to new destinations but also to new heights inspired by the elixir you have gathered at this university.

Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi Prof. Yogesh Singh presided over the function and welcomed Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. He also presented a detailed account of the glorious journey of 101 years of the university. He called upon the graduating students to maintain the high standards of the University such as ethics, honesty, hard work, humility and determination in their lives. Four books were also released on this occasion. During the ceremony, 9 students were also honored with gold medals and awards by the Vice President.

Vice President said that I feel extremely happy to be among you all as the Chancellor at the centenary convocation of Delhi University. He congratulated the degree receiving students, their parents, their friends and faculty members on this important occasion. He said that this is a memorable event! The degree awarded this time will have many new features, the most impressive of which are the name of the student's mother and a colour photo of the student. Discussing the degree, the Vice President said that this degree has 17 unique security features like currency notes, which will make it difficult to imitate. This shows our technical adaptability and our technical capability. Discussing the convocation dress, he said that the pleasant thing is that this dress code matches our culture more. While addressing the students, Jagdeep Dhankhar said that your learning does not end with degree, you have to always be engaged in learning. Learning is a lifelong activity and it is our commitment to humanity. You leave as an alumnus of this great university with the determination to always make yourself, your parents, your friends, the alma mater and the nation proud.

659 got PhD degree at DU’s 100th Convocation

In the 100th convocation of Delhi University, 659 students were awarded PhD degrees. Apart from these, degrees were also awarded to 138020 graduate students which include 130697 UG and 7323 PG students. Of these, 58545 are male and 79475 female students. These degrees were awarded in digital mode while medals and awards were presented through the platform.

This time, a total of 207 medals/awards were given in the DU convocation ceremony, of which 173 were gold medals and certificates and 34 were award certificates. The total number of students who received these medals/awards was 167, which included 110 female and 57 male students.
