University of Delhi has secured first position in Western Vocal Solo in the 37th Inter-University North West Zone Youth Festival 2024 held at Rohtak.

Moreover, the university teams received different prizes in a total of 6 categories. Now DU will participate in the National Youth Festival to be held at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana in March-April 2024.

Anoop Lather, Chairperson of the Steering Committee of Culture Council, University of Delhi, said that under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the 37th Inter-University North West Zone Youth Festival 2024 will be organized this year at Maharishi Dayanand University Rohtak, Haryana. In this festival University of Delhi participated in 17 categories. He informed that DU students have won prizes under 6 categories in various competitions. 

Dean of Culture Council Prof. Ravinder Kumar told that 1st position was won by Rochelle John in category of Western Vocal Solo. 2nd position was won by Zargham Akram Khan in the Classical Instrumental Solo (Percussion) category. 3rd position was won in the Western Instrumental Solo category by Jaiditya Jha. 3rd position was also won by Aditya R in the Classical Dance category. 4th position was won by Khushboo Kumari Singh in the Rangoli category. 5th position was won by Pushpam Kumar in the category of On-the-Spot Painting.

Prof. Ravinder Kumar (Dean,Culture Council), Dr. Hemant Verma (Joint Dean, Culture Council), Dr. Rigzin Kang and Dr. Sukanya Tikadar (Team in-Charges), Dr. Sunil and Dr. Gurjeet Singh (Support Staff) were present at the prize ceremony which was headed by Additional Chief Secretary of Haryana Mr. Anand Mohan and Vice Chancellor of MDU (Rohtak) Prof. Rajbir Singh.

DU VC Professor Yogesh Singh congratulated all the participants and the Culture Council of University of Delhi for these achievements.
