DU inks agreement with Kyungpook National University to promote Korean language education

DU inks agreement with Kyungpook National University to promote Korean language education

University of Delhi today signed an MoU with Kyungpook National University, Korea to promote Korean Language Education at both the universities.

Dr Vikas Gupta, Registrar, University of Delhi and Professor Hwang Hwa-seok, Director, Institute of International Development, Kyungpook National University as representatives of Kyungpook National University exchanged the documents.   

On this occasion, Professor Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi said that this is the first step towards the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two universities in the spirit of friendship.

Dr. Vikas Gupta said that under this MoU, the Kyungpook National University will provide funds to the University of Delhi for program development and operation expenses; such as, renovation of Language laboratory and infrastructure. Additionally, they have appointed a Korean language instructor and committed to offering scholarships for ten students from the Department of East Asian Studies annually, allowing them to participate as exchange students at Kyungpook National University, as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding.

This MoU will remain effective for one year and will be renewed annually for the next three years. On this occasion, Mr. Anoop Lather, Public Relations Officer, Professor Nabin Panda, Head Department of East Asian Studies along with other faculty of Korean Section, Department of East Asian Studies, Professor Neera Agnimitra, Chairperson International Relations, Prof. Anil Rai, Dean International Relations (Social Sciences & Humanities) and Prof. Ashutosh Bhardwaj, Dean International Relations (Science & Technology) along with other officials of International Relations were present.
