DU UG admission 2024 has witnessed over three lakh student registrations along with over one lakh preference filled for colleges and courses at the counselling cum admission portal.

Delhi University (DU) will conclude the preference filling process in CSAS for programmes and colleges tomorrow i.e. August 7, 2024. Reportedly, Delhi University has received over three lakh registrations and over one lakh preferences filled for college and courses to date. The university is offering over 70,000 seats for its undergraduate courses. Around three lakh students have registered on the portal, and around one lakh students have filled in their preferences for colleges and courses, as reported by The Hindu. 

Delhi University UG admission 2024 comprises two phases. The first phase of admissions comprises registration while the second phase comprises preference filling. DU Phase 1 and Phase 2 process for the academic year 2024 will conclude on August 7, 2024

The CSAS will auto-lock the preference on August 9, 2024, for students who will not select the programme and college filling by the deadline. Further, the simulated list will be released on August 11, 2024 (5 PM). 

Students who will be willing to change their preference after the simulated list will be able to change their preference between August 11 to 12, 2024.

Q:   Is CUET exam registration open?

A:

Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2025 registration will commence in the first week of February 2025. NTA will release the CUET 2025 notification. Soon after the release of the notification, the CUET registration 2025 process will commence online at cuetug-ac.ntaonline.in. Candidates willing to appear for the CUET 2025 exam must ensure that they fill out the application form online. CUET 2025 registration will end in the first week of April 2025. Further to the last date, candidates will not be able to fill out the CUET application form. No request for extension of CUET registration until the last date will be entertained.

Before filling out the application form, candidates must ensure they fulfil the prescribed CUET eligibility criteria to qualify for the entrance exam. 

Q:   Does DU offer 1 year LLM?

A:

No, Delhi University offers a full-time LLM programme of two to three years duration at the PG level. This course is offered by Faculty of Law under DU. University of Delhi LLM admission is conducted in online mode and for final selection, candidates are required to appear for the entrance exam conducted by the university. CUET PG exam is conducted by NTA and considered by DU for admission to LLM course. Candidates after completing graduation can apply for DU LLM programme.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for the BSc course at University of Delhi?

A:

The eligibility criteria for pursuing BSc from DU is as follows:

  • Pass in Class 12 or equivalent exam
  • A valid score in the CUET (Common University Entrance Test).
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India
  • The candidate must have not crossed the age of 25 years on the first day of the academic session

The CUET (Common University Entrance Test) - UG exam accepted by DU is a national-level entrance exam that is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate courses in various central universities, including DU. The scores of CUET are used for admission to both BSc (Hons) and BSc (General) courses in DU.

In addition to the above, some DU-affiliated colleges could have additional eligibility criteria, such as a minimum age limit or a requirement for a set percentage of marks in certain subjects. Hence, candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria of the specific college and course in DU UG Information Bulletin available on the official website.

Q:   How many subjects can a candidate choose in CUET UG while filling the application form?

A:

The numbers for choosing CUET sujects is five.  

Section 1A- (13 languages) Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu.

Section 2- (23 subjects) Accountancy/ Book Keeping,  Biology/ Biological Studies/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry,  Business Studies,  Chemistry,  Computer Science/ Informatics Practices,  Economics/ Business Economics, Geography/Geology,  History,  Home Science,  Knowledge Tradition and Practices of India,  Environmental Science,  Mathematics,  Physical Education/ NCC /Yoga,  Physics,  Political Science,  Psychology,  Sociology,  Agriculture,  Mass Media/ Mass Communication,  Anthropology,  Fine Arts/ Visual Arts (Sculpture/ Painting)/Commercial Arts,  Performing Arts – (i) Dance (Kathak/ Bharatnatyam/ Oddisi/ Kathakali/Kuchipudi/ Manipuri (ii) Drama- Theatre (iii) Music General (Hindustani/ Carnatic/ Rabindra Sangeet/ Percussion/ Non-Percussion),  Sanskrit [For all Shastri (Shastri 3 years/ 4 years Honours), and Tourism
