Forest Research Institute, Dehradun has announced the offline application form FRI Entrance Exam 2023 for the academic session 2023 on February 6. The filling up offline application process is ongoing. Read the complete article to know more about the examination and its application process.

FRI Entrance Exam 2023 Underway; Apply by April 17

FRI Entrance Exam 2023 application form has been released on its official website http://fridu.edu.in/ on February 6. The last date of receipt of the completed application form is  April 17, 2023. Forms received after the last date will not be accepted in any circumstances. It is also advised to send the application form by Registered Post, Speed Post/Courier. Postal delay will not be accepted as a plea to entertain applications after the last date. The Scheduled date of the online remote proctored admission test is May 21. FRI Entrance Exam 2023 Results are expected to be declared in the month of June.

FRI Entrance Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to meet FRI Entrance Exam 2023 eligibility criteria as is fixed by the Academic Council of Forest Research Institute.

MSc Forestry

Candidates meet the eligibility criteria for MSc Forestry course offered at Forest Research Institute if they possess Bachelor’s degree in Science with at least one of the subject from Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Forestry.

MSc Wood Science & Technology

Candidates meet the eligibility criteria for MSc Wood Science & Technology course offered at Forest Research Institute if they possess Bachelor’s degree with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or BSc degree in Forestry.

MSc Environment Management

Candidates meet the eligibility criteria for MSc Environment Management course offered at Forest Research Institute if they possess three years Bachelor’s degree in any branch of basic or applied Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or Agriculture or BE in Environment Science.

MSc Cellulose & Paper Technology

Candidates meet the eligibility criteria for MSc Cellulose & Paper Technology course offered at Forest Research Institute if they possess three years Bachelors' Degree with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects or if they have completed their BE/BTech (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 50% aggregate).

How to apply for FRI Entrance Exam

Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps on how to apply for FRI Entrance Exam.

Step 1: Visit the official website of FRI Deemed to be University, Dehradun which is http://fridu.edu.in/ 

Step 2: On visiting the official website of the university, go to the admissions page. 

Step 3: Click on 'Information Bulletin' which will be present on the admission site. 

Step 4: Download the Information Bulletin for FRI Entrance Exam. 

Step 6: Take a print out of the application form. admit card and registration form which will be mentioned in the information bulletin. 

Step 7: Fill all the details as required, paste the passport size picture in the required places.

Step 8: Send it to the Institute bank along with the demand draft. 

Note- A candidate may apply in more than one course in test but he/she is required to fill up the separate admission form and separate fee for each course e.g. In case candidate applies for
two courses the fee payable shall be more than INR 1500.

Forest Research Institute (Deemed) University conducts FRI Entrance Exam in order to shortlist aspirants for master’s programmes offered by the institute. On the basis of a candidate’s score in FRI Entrance Exam, he/she is shortlisted for admission in courses such as – MSc Forestry, MSc Wood Science & Technology, MSc Environment Management and MSc Cellulose & Paper Technology. After reorganization of Forestry Research in the country and creation of Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) in 1988, the training and research centres were given an independent status of institutes.
