IISC Bangalore to organise workshop on Artificial Intelligence in Precision Medicine

Indian Institute of Science Bangalore is all set to conduct a workshop on Artificial Intelligence in Precision Medicine on January 24 and January 25, 2024. The last date to register for the workshop is January 10, 2024.

The workshop aims to foster a deeper understanding of ongoing research in both Industry and Academia by bringing together leaders from both. "We hope to provide a comprehensive overview of recent advancements in precision medicine, and also explore its wide-ranging applications.

The workshop brings together researchers working in the area of AI for medical image computing and public health to provide a comprehensive overview of recent advancements in precision medicine and further scope in the important applications such as subject-level screening, diagnosis, therapeutic planning and follow-up," reads the official notification.

Topics of discussion may include, but not limited to, recent novel techniques for - Medical image reconstruction, registration, segmentation on various imaging modalities, population-level probabilistic modelling, improving deep learning model generalizability, applications including computer-aided diagnosis, therapeutic planning and follow-up, and Practical AI coding sessions to provide hands-on experience on AI tools implementation.

Dr. Siddharth Barman Receives ACM India Early Career Researcher 2023 Award

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) India Council has named Dr. Siddharth Barman from IISc Bangalore as the recipient of the ACM India Early Career Researcher (ECR) Award for 2023. A selection committee comprising eminent international personalities chose him for this edition of the ECR award.

The ACM India ECR award recognizes individuals in early stages of their careers, who have made fundamental, innovative, and impactful contributions to the computing field while primarily working in India. The award carries a prize of INR 15 lakhs, sponsored by the Persistent Foundation.
