IISER 2024 entrance examination for the academic session 2024-2024 will be conducted online/ computer-based test. Candidates will get a the nearest ION digital zone as their examination centre and will give the IISER 2024 entrance examination on the computer. The IISER Entrance Exam 2024 pattern has been specified for this year's examination. It has been observed that the IISER Entrance Exam 2024 pattern remains to be same as of the previous year of IISER Entrance Exam which was also conducted in online mode I. e. computer-based.

Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) conduct an entrance exam in order to provide admission to candidates in the five-year-long BSMS dual degree programme offered by them. Candidates who cleared their Class 12 in the Science stream will be eligible to apply for the IISER Entrance Exam 2024. IISER 2024 entrance examination is conducted once in every year. IISER 2024 entrance examination will have 60 questions which the candidates need to answer in the duration of three hours.

The IISER Entrance Exam syllabus is in tune with the Class 11 and 12 Board exam syllabus. The questions in the examination are asked from 4 domains of Science subject, which is Mathematics, Biology Chemistry and Physics. As per the syllabus mentioned in the information brochure of IISER 2024, it is observed that in Biology subject maximum syllabus is covered from class 12 book. For the subject of Physics. Mathematics and Chemistry the syllabus is equally distributed in class 11 and 12.

IISER Entrance Exam carries equal weightage of all the subjects which are asked in the examination. The IISER Entrance Exam Marking Scheme is as follows: 1. Physics 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers. 2. Mathematics- 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers. 3. Chemistry 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers. 4. Biology 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers

The IISER Entrance Exam Marking Scheme is as follows: 1. Physics 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers. 2. Mathematics- 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers. 3. Chemistry 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers. 4. Biology 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers. Marking scheme: Candidates will be awarded three marks for each correct answer. There will be negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer.

IISER 2024 Exam pattern for the academic session 2024-25 remains the same. However, last year pattern remains to be same as of the previous year of IISER Entrance Exam which was also conducted in online mode i.e., computer-based. The only change which is made by the exam conducting body is the marks awarded for each correct anwer. Earlier the examination was 180 marks, but now the maximum mark of the examination will be 240 marks. The IISER Entrance Exam will be conducted in various exam centres across India. The duration of the entrance exam was 3 Hours and the medium of the IISER Entrance Exam be in English . The format of the IISER Entrance Exam is in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)..

Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) conduct an entrance exam in order to provide admission to candidates in the five-year-long BSMS dual degree programme offered by them. The IISER Entrance Exam 2024 format is multiple choice questions (MCQ), where four options will be given to the candidates against a question. Candidates are needed to select one option amongst the four options which are mentioned. To every correct answer, marks will be awarded to the candidates.

For BSMS dual degree, you can apply for IISER's up to 1 year of drop. That is, you should have passed 12th in the year of admission or the year before. If you have passed before that, then, unfortunately, you can't apply. For Masters or Ph.D. courses, IISERs don't have their entrance exam.

For Candidates seeking admission under the OBC-NCL category: 1. As per the latest guidelines of the Government of India, OBC-NCL Certificate should have been issued on or after April 01, 2023. 2. If any OBC-NCL candidate fails to submit the OBC-NCL Certificate (issued on or after April 01, 2023) at the time of online application, the candidate has to upload a signed declaration form. 3. The candidate has to upload a fresh Certificate (issued on or after 1 April 2023) on or before July 7, 2023. 4. If the Certificate is not uploaded by the given date and time, the candidate will not be considered for admission under this category. If qualified, the category will be adjusted accordingly in the Common Rank List.

Candidates were advised to upload a scanned copy of their passport-size photograph which should be either coloured or black and white. The photograph should be in white background and 80 per cent face (without mask) should be visible. The image file should have been in JPG or JPEG format and within 200 KB dimension.

Upon successful submission of the IISER online application form along with the exam fee, an automated email and SMS were sent to the registered email ID and mobile number of candidates. In case the application process was not submitted, but the application fee got debited, candidates were advised to contact IISER Exam conducting body or visit the official website for assistance for the application status. Even after three days if candidates did not receive the application confirmation, then they were advised to try and complete the IISER IAT 2024 application form.

You can re-generate your IISER application number by clicking on the Forgot Application link available on the account login window. The steps to get the application number have been given below for the candidates:

a) Go to the application window/result window 

b) Click on the forgot application number link

c) Fill out the details asked

d) The application number will be sent to the registered mobile number and email.

Candidates can check out their e-mail where at the time of registration, IAT exam authority must have sent the application number on successful registration. 

IISER application forms had to be filled in online mode on the official website of the exam only. Candidates had to visit the official website of IISER 2023 and register first, which generated the credentials, or the username and password. After that, they had to log in and complete the application process by filling out the mandatory fields and paying the requisite application fee online.

No, there is no such age limit, but you can not take admission if you passed your school 3 years before the admission date, unless you go through the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced. Students should have qualified in the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced in the year 2022 and should have a rank within 15000 in the common merit list for General and Other Backward Class or in the respective category rank lists General-EWS, Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer, Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, and PwD.

IISER 2023 entrance examination is considered to be one of the finest and the toughest exams under Science stream undergraduate entrance examination as it provides the BSMS dual degree in the most reputed and research-oriented institutions across the country which is IISERs. On a comparison note, candidates will find the examination tougher than JEE Main exam, but below JEE Advanced. For the bio-background people, the Math section is not usually unscalable. With a decent understanding of regular 11th and 12th-grade concepts, you should be able to crack a few questions without much trouble. Of course, the caveat being that you rock it in the bio section and make up for it. So ensure that you don't falter at this juncture.

Candidates who cleared their Class 12 in the Science stream are eligible to apply for the IISER Entrance Exam 2024. As per the IISER Entrance Exam pattern, there are a total of 60 objective questions that candidates need to complete in three hours duration. The question paper will be in English and Hindi languages. The candidates must read all the given instructions provided in the question papers at the time of examination.

For candidates seeking admission under the GEN-EWS category

 1. As per the latest guidelines of the Government of India, GEN-EWS Certificate should have been issued on or after April 01, 2024. If any GEN-EWS candidate fails to submit the GEN-EWS Certificate (issued on or after April 01, 2024) at the time of online application, the candidate has to upload a signed declaration form.

 2. The candidate has to upload a fresh Certificate (issued on or after 1 April 2024) on or before July 7, 2024. 3. IISER Aptitude Test difficulty level is more like of JEE Main level and hence it is found that IISER IAT is usually easier than JEE Advance. There are four sections in the exam, and all have equal weightage. Mentioned below are the details for the same: Biology: This section might sound a tough nut to crack for the PCM students, but a reasonable understanding of class 11 and 12 NCERT concepts can help you sail through this section. If you are not familiar with Biology try to ace the Maths section. As the number of test-takers has grown over the years, this section has also seen a surged difficulty level. Maths: For the Biology students, it might be hard to crack. You need to focus on 11th and 12th class concepts. You can search for the doable questions and solve them.

The medium of Question Paper for IAT 2024 will be English and Hindi (Bilingual).

IISER 2024 Registration from started has been started. Interested applicants must visit the official website of IISER 2024, i.e., http://www.iiseradmission.in/.

All Candidates shall ensure that the information (like his/her name, mother’s name, father’s name, gender, date of birth, category, PwBD status, mobile number, e-mail address, photograph and signature, choice of cities for exam Centre, etc.) provided by them in their online Application Form is correct and of their own. Candidates are advised to exercise the utmost care in filling up correct details in the Online Application Form. Any request for change in the particulars and uploaded scanned images at any stage will not be considered by IISER under any circumstances. IISER will not entertain the corrections sent by the candidate through Post/Fax/WhatsApp/E-mail/by Hand. 

Candidates are advised to fill only one IISER Application Form and to take utmost care while filling out the mobile number and e-mail address. Candidates are also advised to use the mobile number and email address that are accessible to them such as of their parent/ guardian. One mobile number and email address can be used for one Application Form only. 

Information provided by the candidates in their respective IISER 2024 online Application Forms, like, the name of the candidate, contact details, address details, category, PwBD status, educational qualification details, date of birth, choice of exam cities, etc. will be treated as final. Any request for change in such particulars will not be considered by Exam officials under any circumstances.

The following Institutions use IAT for admitting students to their programs as specified below.
a. Bachelor of Science (Research) program of Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.
b. BS-Medical Sciences and Engineering program of Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM).
Students who wish to apply to any of the above programs (IISc, IITM) MUST complete BOTH Step 1 and Step 2 detailed below.

The tentative total number of seats available for the BS-MS/BS program is 1933, with each IISER having the following number of seats.

• At the time of filling up the online application for counselling, a candidate will be shown 9 programs across 7 IISERs.
•  Candidates are required to make a preference list from among these 9 programs that the candidate wants to be considered for admission.
• The preference order must be from the most preferred (first preference) to the least preferred (last preference).
• The preference list must contain at least one IISER program.
• A candidate will be considered ONLY for those IISER programs which are on the candidate’s preference list. Consequently, a candidate will not be considered for admission to an IISER program that is not mentioned in the candidate’s preference list.

During online application, candidates will have to upload digital copies of forms/ certificates. The acceptable file sizes are mentioned below:

• Photograph Upto 200 KB
• Signature Upto 200 KB
• Photo ID 200KB- upto 1 MB
• Caste Certificate 200KB- upto 1 MB
• 10th Marksheet 200KB- upto 1 MB
• 12th Marksheet 200KB- upto 1 MB
• PwD Certificate 200KB- upto 1 MB

 Reservation policies as mandated by the Govt. of India will apply.
 Scheduled Caste (SC) - 15% of seats
 Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 7.5% of seats
 Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) - 27% of seats.
 Persons with Disability (PwD) with at least 40% impairment - 5% of seats (supernumerary)
 Kashmiri Migrants - 3 seats per IISER (supernumerary)
 Economically Weaker Section (EWS) - up to 10% (as per Government of India rules)

 The students from the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), from Kashmir division/Winter Zone areas of Jammu division and the U.T. of Ladakh, who appeared in their Class XII or equivalent level examination in Dec 2021*, are also eligible to apply for the IAT 2024, provided they satisfy all the other eligibility criteria. During the application process, these students must pick 2022 as their year of passing the class 12 examination.

 Applicants must be Indian nationals or PIO or OCI to apply for IAT 2024.
 Candidates must have passed the Class XII (or equivalent) examination with science stream in 2022, 2023 or 2024 from any board recognized by Council of Boards of
School Education in India COBSE.
 Candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics during their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.
 Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD require to score a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.
Candidates belonging to other categories require to score a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination

Candidates will also get the oppurtunity to edit the IISER 2024 application form against the incorrect details filled by them earlier. IISER 2024 application correction window will open on May 16, 2024 and will remain open for the period of two day and will get close on May 17, 2024 by 11:50 PM.

Here is the list of candidates required while filling out the IAT 2204 application form:

• Class X certificate
• Class XII (or equivalent examination).
• If the class XII (or equivalent) marks sheet is not available now, then you can instead upload a signed declaration form - “DECLARATION BY THE CANDIDATE IN LIEU OF ELIGIBILITY EXAM CERTIFICATE/
  MARKSHEET” (see Annexure). Fill in the form, sign it, scan it and then upload. The scanned copies of the actual marks sheet must be uploaded on or before 2 nd July 2024, failing which you will not be allotted a seat in any of the IISERs.

No. All payments will be accepted only through a secure online payment gateway on the application portal.

Note: Please do not use RuPay Credit Card through UPI for paying the Application Form Fee.

There is a single channel available for admission into IISERs. All candidates will be admitted through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2024.

The registration fee paid while filling out the IISER 2024 application form is non-refundable.

The application fee is to be paid by the applicant during the submission of the application form, starting on April 01, 2024:

• Rs. 2,000/- for candidates applying under General, EWS, OBC, and OBC-NCL categories.
• Rs. 1,000/- for candidates applying under persons with disabilities (PwD), persons registered as Kashmiri Migrants (KM) and SC/ST category.

Candidates whose Class XII (or equivalent) examination results have not yet been declared, can apply for IAT 2024. However, their admission will be subject to fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria given above.

• For candidates who had appeared in the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023 and reappeared in any subject (for whatever reason) in 2024, the
  better of two performances will be considered.
• If a board gives aggregate marks considering both Class XI and Class XII, then only Class XII (or equivalent) examination marks will be considered. If a board gives aggregate marks considering the results of all three years of a 3-year diploma or courses of equivalent duration, then only the marks scored in the final year will be considered. Similarly, the marks scored in the final two semesters will be considered for boards that follow a semester system.

• Applicants must be Indian nationals or PIO or OCI in order to apply through KVPY or IAT channel. Candidates who are NOT Indian nationals or PIO or OCI can apply for admission only through the JEE (Advanced) channel.
• Candidates must have passed Class XII (or equivalent) exam with science stream in 2022 or 2024 from any board recognized by Council of Boards of School Education in India COBSE.
• Candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics during their Class XII (or equivalent) exam.
• Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD should have scored a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) exam. IISER Aptitude Test 2024 exam notification was released by the exam authority on the official website. Interested applicants who wish to enroll in the BS and BS-MS dual degree programme offered at various IIISER participating institutes must fill out the IAT registration form 2024, i.e., starting from April 1, 2024.
