IISER Thiruvananthapuram holds 11th Convocation; 331 students awarded degrees

Padma Bhushan Dr. Koppillil Radhakrishnan, Former Chairperson, ISRO and Chairperson of the standing committee of the IIT Council was the Chief Guest of the function, which was presided over by Prof. Arvind Anant Natu, Chairperson, Board of Governors of IISER TVM.

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM) organised 11th convocation at its campus in Vithura, Thiruvananthapuram on July 23, 2023.

Padma Bhushan Dr. K Radhakrishnan, Former Chairperson, ISRO & Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the IIT Council was the Chief Guest and delivered the convocation address. Prof. Arvind A. Natu, Chairperson, Board of Governors presided over the function.

After a modern and immersive research-integrated education, a total of 189 BS-MS, 73 MSc, 21 MS (Research), 36 PhD and 12 integrated PhD students were awarded the degrees in the 11th Convocation. Prof. J. N. Moorthy, Director, IISER TVM presented the report on the developments and progress of the Institute.

"The Inauguration of our new School building, namely, School of Earth, Environmental and Sustainability Sciences (SEESS) was inaugurated by our Convocation Chief Guest, Dr. K. Radhakrishnan in the presence of entire IISER TVM fraternity," tweeted IISER Thiruvananthapuram.

Sharang Iyer for bagging the Institute Gold medal at the convocation ceremony. Ananthu M for received the School of Biology Gold Medal and Silpa Mary Johnson for School of Biology Silver medal. Rayirth Bhat and Souvik Ghosh won the School of Physics Gold and Silver Medal (Msc).

With the knowledge and skills gained at IISER TVM, these young graduates are ready to make a positive impact on society and contribute significantly to the advancement of science and research in India and beyond.
