On the basis of AIRs awarded to candidates, an all-India merit list will be prepared. However, “the number of candidates included in all India merit list depends on the total number of seats available in each category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD) in a given subject,” informs the official website.

All qualified candidates allotted AIRs will then be eligible to apply for admission in their respective courses offered at colleges accepting IIT JAM scores.

Next, after the exam authority receives all the applications, it published the admission lists on the basis of choices made by the candidates and the rank list. After this, the candidates who are allotted the seats can secure their admission as under: 

Accept and Freeze: Candidates can use this option to book their seats. They need to pay a "Seat Booking Fee" of INR 10,000 if belonging to the General/OBC-NCL/EWS category and INR 5,000 if belonging to SC/ST/PwD category. The admission fee can be paid in online mode using credit card/debit card/net banking. The admission fee will be transferred to the bank account of the allotted college. 

Accept with Upgrade: If candidates are okay with the seat allotted but they want to participate in the next round of counselling to see a better option then they select this option. In this option, candidates will have to pay the fee same as above to secure the seat. The candidates will be given a high preference for college in the next round. 

Reject and Quit: If candidates do not want the allotted seat, then they can choose this option. The candidates will receive an OTP on their mobile number on selecting this option. Candidates need to enter the same and confirm the decision. 

Candidates first needed to fill and submit the application form for IIT JAM 2024 admissions on the official website. The application form for CAP had to be filled in online mode only and, candidates have to upload the required documents as well. Moreover, the candidates need to pay the application fee of INR 750 using the online methods. Candidates could select as many courses as they want through the common application form.

Yes, IIT JAM is conducted every year. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on a rotational basis for admission to M.Sc., Ph.D., and other postgraduate programs in Science and its allied subjects. The exam is typically conducted in the month of February, and the applications are usually open in the month of September. The exam is conducted in a computer-based mode and consists of 60 questions for 100 marks.

Yes, candidates must download their IIT JAM results 2024 for their respective ourses. The hard copy or print out of the results will be required at the time JAM 2024 counselling and other formalities related to the admission process.

The log in credentials required to download the IIT JAM 2024 result are your registered email address and password. These email address and password should be the same that you used at the time of filling out the IIT JAM 2024 Law 2024 application form. 

IIT JAM  2024 Counselling process is expected to start from second week of April, 2024. Candidates will be able to fill the admission forms through online mode. Tie-Breaking: The tie-breaking criteria for awarding the ranks to candidates scoring the same aggregate marks in a Test Paper will be as follows:
Positive-to-negative marks ratio, followed by NAT marks, and then MSQ marks. Subsequently, if there is a tie, then DOB would be used, where, the older candidate gets better rank.

For each Test Paper, an All India Merit list will be prepared based on AIR. The number of candidates included in the All India Merit List will depend on the total number of seats available in each category (GEN/ OBC-NCL/ EWS/ SC/ ST/ PwD) in a given subject.

JAM Score is used for admission to various postgraduate programmes such as (i) MSc,   (ii) MSc (Tech), (iii) MS (Research), (iv) MSc - M.Tech Dual Degree, (v) Joint MSc - PhD. and (vi) MSc - PhD Dual Degree, across multiple disciplines by premier institutes across the country.
Admissions to various programmes using JAM 2024 Score can be divided into two categories:
I. Admitting Institutes:
There are around 3000 seats in postgraduate programmes at 21 IITs for the academic year2024-25. JAM 2024 Scores will be used to admit the candidates subject to satisfying the ERs and MEQs and any other necessary requirements, without any additional interview or written test.
II. Result Sharing Institutes:

The IIT JAM 2024 SCorecard will be valid for admission to the academic year 2024-25 only. Scores and candidate data would be shared with the University where he/she has applied. Evaluation of MCQ, MSQ and NA of all the Test Papers will be carried out using final answer keys and the raw (actual) marks obtained by a candidate will be considered further for computation of the result of IIT JAM 2024. 

 The Score Card will contain separate scores for Section A, B and C. The University will draw the merit list based on the total score achieved by the candidates.
