IIT JAM Registration 2025 Extended to October 18: Check Fees, Steps to Fill Form @jam2025.iitd.ac.in

Please logout of the JAM 2025 application portal and login after some time to check if the payment is reflected. If not, send an email to jam@admin.iitd.ac.in.
Please follow the below procedure
1. Please login JOAPS Portal with your Credentials.
2. Click the "Proceed to Payment" button. It will direct you to payment page and please proceed to pay the application fee once again.
3. In case, your previous payment is Success, it will automatically update and redirect you to the JAM 2025 Application page.
4. If your payment is unsuccessful, click the "Proceed to Payment" button till success. The unsuccessful payment will be credited back to your account as early as possible.

You can apply with the existing certificate. However, for any minor defects (such as photo/signature scan quality, uploaded document validity/clarity etc.) the candidates will be contacted via email/phone/SMS for rectifying the defects, within a specific period ( tentatively before November 20, 2024). Until you upload a valid certificate, you will be considered under "General" Category.

Candidates should upload scanned copy of the relevant certificate in pdf format of file size in the range 10 KB to 300 KB. Candidates shall be required to submit the same certificate during Admissions to the respective Admitting Institutes.

Name written in CAPITAL LETTERS, Initials or signature in any other colour (other than black or dark blue) will NOT be accepted. Use a professional scanner to get the digital image of the signature. Only JPEG/JPG
image format will be accepted.

Details of the Photo Identity Document (ID). Any one of the following Photo IDs:

• Aadhaar ID
• Driving License
• PAN Card
• Passport
• Voter ID.

The specified Photo ID is required in the original and should be carried by the candidate to the examination centre.

JOAPS allows the candidate to enter the data, save a partially filled form, log out and resume filling by logging in again. The JOAPS portal is self-explanatory and user-friendly.

There are 7 subjects in the IIT JAM 2025 examination:

* Biotechnology (BT)
* Chemistry (CY)
* Economics (EN)
* Geology (GG)
* Mathematical Statistics (MS)
* Mathematics (MA)
* Physics (PH)

Students can choose to appear for one or more subjects, depending on their interests and eligibility. The exam is conducted in a computer-based mode and consists of 60 questions for 100 marks.

Candidates qualifying in JAM 2025 are eligible to apply for admission to around 3000 seats in IITs for the academic year 2025-26. No additional evaluation process, such as suitability test or interview is required for admission to the programmes in Admitting Institutes under JAM 2025.

JAM 2025 Scores will be used for admission to over 2000 seats for IISc and counselling through CCMN. JAM Scores are used for admission to programmes such as MSc, MSc (Tech), MS Research, MSc-MTech. Dual Degree, Joint M.Sc. - Ph.D., M.Sc. - Ph.D. Dual Degree in various institutes.

JAM 2024 Examination will be conducted in eight zones. The names of these eight zones with the list of zone-wise Examination Cities are listen on JAM 2024 exam centres (Probable Examination cities of JAM 2024). Candidates must specify their first, second and third choice of cities at the time of applying for JAM 2024. When the choice of first city is made, then the zone gets determined and the candidates will be able to choose the second and third choice city only from the same zone.

After the form is submitted, a new window will open that will display the name and enrollment ID of the candidate. The window will also display the amount to be paid by the candidate as the application fee. After checking these details, candidates need to click on the 'Proceed to Payment' button. Candidates can pay IIT JAM 2025 application fee in online mode through internet banking/ debit card/ credit card.

First, candidates have to register themselves at the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) by filling and submitting details such as name, email address, mobile number, and password. Once candidates registered for the exam successfully, they were sent an email and SMS containing their enrollment ID. Candidates need to save the enrollment ID and thereafter proceed towards filling JAM 2025 application form.

Candidates needed to possess the below-mentioned data/ documents to successfully fill the application form for IIT JAM 2025.

• Personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parent's name, parent's mobile number, etc.)
• Address for communication (including PIN code)
• Eligibility degree details
• College name and address with PIN code
• JAM Paper(s) Code
• Choice of JAM examination cities
• High-quality passport-size photograph 
• A high-quality image of the candidate’s signature 
• Scanned copy of the Category (SC/ST) Certificate (if applicable) in PDF format
• Scanned copy of PwD Certificate (if applicable) in PDF format
• Details of the valid Identity Document (ID). Candidates should carry this original ID proof to the exam centre.
• Net-banking/ debit card/credit card details for fee payment

Candidates have to upload the digital image of their signature made on A4 white paper in a rectangular box with a black or dark blue ink pen. The file size should be between 5 KB and 100 KB.

 Candidates had to upload (in JPEG format) their passport-size coloured photograph with a white/ very light colour background. The file size was to be between 5 KB and 200 KB. Selfie or informal photographs with sunglasses, hats or caps were not be accepted.

 Details that candidates have to fill in the application form are:

• Exam details: Here, candidates have to select one or two test papers for which they want to write the exam. However, in the case of two papers, candidates have to ensure that both exams are conducted in different sessions.

• Exam centre details: Here, candidates need to select cities where they want to take the test. They can select a maximum of three cities.

• Personal details: This section requires candidates to mention their name, date of birth, gender, category, parents’ names, etc.

• Correspondence address: Here, candidates have to mention the address where they would like to receive any future communication. The address needs to be mentioned with the pin code.

• Educational details: Here, candidates has to mention their educational qualification details such as the name of the qualifying degree, year of passing, college/ university name, marks obtained, etc.

According to the infomation mentioned in the IIT JAM 2025 Information brochure, which was released by IIT Madras, the examination conducting body, there is no as such any age limit to appear for IIT JAM 2025. However it is recommended that aspirants can appear for IIT JAM 2025 examination as soon as the get a graduate degree so that they can perform well in the examination.

Yes, in order to fill in the IIT JAM 2025 Application form, applicants are required to visit the official website and create a registered account at JAOPS Portal which will be helpful in the IIT JAM 2025 admission process right from filling out the IIT JAM 2025 application form.

  A candidate can appear in either ONE or TWO Test Paper (s). However, a candidate can appear in two Test Papers only if they are not scheduled in the same session.   

 Verification of Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) and the Eligibility Requirements (ERs) for admission is the prerogative of the Admitting Institute(s) only and the Organizing Institute will not respond to
any queries in this regard.
• The offer of admission to a candidate will be provisional, subject to the fulfillment of all the requirements by the dates specified.
• Candidates should note that being in the Merit List of any test paper neither guarantees nor provides any automatic entitlement for admission. Admissions shall be made in the order of merit and depending on the availability of seats at the Admitting Institutes.

Candidates who are eligible to avail the facility of scribe can opt for compensatory time of one hour, for the three-hour examination, even if they do not utilize the services of a scribe. This compensatory time of 60 minutes will be provided automatically, which needs to be checked in the candidate’s console.

Applications shall be scrutinized to verify the data entered by the candidate with the submitted supporting documents, clarity of the photograph and signature. If everything is found to be in order, the application will be accepted. Otherwise, defects in the application will be marked and intimated to the candidate for rectification within a stipulated time. The status of the application and defects marked in the application will be intimated
to the candidates through e-mail and/or SMS. The latest status of an application will be updated after the receipt and re-scrutiny of the application. The status of an application can be checked at any point of time by logging in JOAPS. Candidates should rectify the marked defects in the application before the stipulated deadline. Failing to rectify the defects within the stipulated time can lead to the rejection of the application.

Candidates appearing in the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2025 are eligible to appear in JAM 2025. By qualifying in JAM 2025, candidates can apply for admission subject to the conditions that (a) all
parts of their undergraduate programme shall be completed before the date of admission of the respective Admitting Institute, and (b) proof of having passed the qualifying degree with required eligibility, as specified by the Admitting Institute should be submitted within the timeline provided by the respective admitting institute.

• 1. Candidates must give an e-mail address that they use frequently, as all communication to the candidate for JAM 2025 will be sent to this e-mail address.
  2. The candidate must not use somebody else's e-mail address and only one candidate can be registered with one E-mail address.
  3. Similarly, candidates should provide their personal mobile number and are advised to use the same number until the admission is completed because most of the communication may also be sent via SMS.
  4. A candidate should submit only one application form even if the candidate wants to appear for two Test Papers. Multiple applications submitted by a candidate are liable for rejection. Hence, DO NOT submit multiple application forms.
  5. Applicants are requested to periodically check the website for the status of the application or/and information. They should also check the messages sent to their registered email id and mobile number.

The application fee is NEITHER refundable NOR transferable. Once submitted, there is no way that a candidate can cancel his/her application.

In case, the fee amount has been debited (deducted) from your bank account, but JAM 2025 application portal does not receive the information due to communication failure or any such event, then the money will be automatically credited back to your account from which the money was deducted. However, this may take a week or more, after the closure of the application process.

If a candidate wish to appear for multiple subjects in IIT JAM 2025 exam, they need to fill out only one IIT JAM 2025 application form and need to add their subject list to that application form. Candidates must note that they need to pay an extra JAM application fee for appearing in multiple subjects.

Admissions to various programmes using JAM 2025 Score can be divided into two categories:
I. Admitting Institutes:
There are around 3000 seats in postgraduate programmes at 22 IITs for the academic year 2025-26. JAM 2024 Scores will be used to admit the candidates subject to satisfying the ERs and MEQs and any other necessary requirements, without any additional interview or written test.
II. Result Sharing Institutes:
JAM scores will be used for admission to over 2000 seats for postgraduate programmes such as MSc and MA at IISc and various NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, DIAT through Centralized Counselling for MSc / MSc (Tech.) Admission (CCMN). There are no additional written tests or interviews for admission to candidates qualifying JAM and satisfying the eligibility and special eligibility requirements through CCMN
