MU signs an MoU with Saint Louis University to offer a Dual Degree Programme in Data Analytics in line with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The University of Mumbai (MU) launched an interesting dual degree programme in Data Analytics similar to the model established by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and IIT Bombay. The programme intended to offer academic strength to Mumbai University students. With the beginning of Mumbai University MoU with Saint Louis University, United States, the academic programme is expected to provide international-level academics, practical exposure and industry-based learning to the students.
"Mumbai University will begin admission to a Dual Degree Programme in Data Analytics in the upcoming academic year. Students who enrol in the Department of Information Technology's Data Analytics programme will spend two semesters of their first year at MU, followed by two semesters of their second year at Saint Louis University. Furthermore, students will also have access to on-the-job training and internships, enriching their practical learning experience." As reported by Hindustan Times.
As Mumbai University is among the Grade-1 Universities as per University Grants Commission (UGC) status, MU no longer requires UGC's approval to form foreign collaborations as per National Education Policy 2020 guidelines.
