NTA to Launch CUET-UG 2024 Online Application Portal Today, says UGC Chairman

With the official website set to go live at cuet.samarth.ac.in, prospective candidates can now access the application form and begin their registration for the CUET-UG 2024 examination.

Today, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will open the online application portal for the Common University Entrance Test for undergraduates (CUET-UG 2024). This announcement comes following the anticipation of thousands of aspiring students seeking admissions to various undergraduate programs across India.

The Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Prof M Jagadesh Kumar, took to Twitter to announce the imminent launch of the CUET-UG 2024 online application portal. In his tweet, he expressed the NTA's readiness to initiate the registration process, which is expected to commence today.

With the official website set to go live at cuet.samarth.ac.in, prospective candidates can now access the application form and begin their registration for the CUET-UG 2024 examination. Notably, this year's exam is scheduled to be held from May 15 to 31, 2024, in a hybrid mode, accommodating the diverse needs of students, including those from rural areas.

A significant change introduced this year is the option for applicants to select up to six subjects, providing them with increased flexibility in choosing their areas of specialization. The revised structure includes four domain papers, one language paper, and one general test paper, or alternatively, three domain papers, two language papers, and one general test paper.

Moreover, the CUET examination format has been streamlined to a single shift, consisting of three slots: morning, afternoon, and evening. Slot 1 will last 120 minutes, while slots 2 and 3 will each be 90 minutes long. The exam will encompass four sections, namely Languages, Domain, and General Test, each comprising 50 questions.

In the Languages section, candidates will have the opportunity to choose from a diverse array of languages, with specific time limits allocated for answering the questions. The Domain section offers a choice of 27 distinct subjects, with varying durations for different subjects. Additionally, the General Test section will cover a comprehensive range of topics, requiring candidates to demonstrate their aptitude across various domains.

The CUET-UG 2024 examination aims to serve as a gateway for admissions to undergraduate programs in participating universities nationwide. Last year witnessed a staggering 13.95 lakh registrations, with nearly equal representation from both female and male candidates, reflecting the widespread interest and importance attached to the CUET-UG examination.
