Higher Education Institutions are requested to organise activities related to Constitution Day of India on November 26, 2023.

University Grants Commission requested Higher Education Institutions to celebrate Constitution Day also known as samvidhan Diwas of India on November 26, 2023. 

UGC’s letter to HEIs said that every year, a number of activities aimed at highlighting and reiterating the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution are organised as part of the celebration.

“An important part of the celebration is reading the Preamble to the Constitution and reaffirming our commitment to uphold its ideology,” added UGC.

MyGov portal has a provision to ‘Read the Preamble’ online and download a certificate. Other activities including talks/webinars on Constitutional values and fundamentals of the Indian Constitution may also be organized. UGC also said to upload the photos, videos on the University Activity Monitoring Portal (UAMP) at https://uamp.ugc.ac.in/.

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on November 19 2015 notified the decision of Government of India to celebrate the 26th day of November every year as 'Constitution Day' to promote Constitution values among citizens.

UGC also requested HEIs in Maharashtra to encourage youth and students to participate in the programmes for celebrating Birth Centenary Year of Shraddheya Dattaji Didolkaar. The programs have been planned from August 7, 2023, to August 7, 2024.

“Honourable Late Dattaji Didolkar is an inspiration to thousands of students and youths of India. He was founder of many social and other organisations. This year is his birth centenary year. In this regard, it is informed that from 7 August, 2023 to 7 August 2024 various programmes have been planned to celebrate the birth centenary year of Shraddheya Dattaji Didolkar," added the official statement of UGC.
