The Maharashtra School Education Department has asked all the primary and secondary education officers as well as Zilla Parishad schools to declare the results for classes 1 to 9 and 11 immediately.
The Maharashtra School Education Department has directed all the primary and secondary education officers as well as Zilla Parishad schools to announce the results for classes 1 to 9 and 11 for the academic year 2019-20 immediately.
In order to give some clarity to students and help them to begin study for the next class, it is necessary to announce the results on a priority basis, the department stated.
The Brihanmumbai Association of Heads of Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools have however asked the government to review its decision.
"All the academic records of the students are in school. It is impossible to prepare the results. Should teachers go to schools braving the risk of being maltreated by the police? Moreover, don’t teachers have summer holidays? The department has not clarified the role of examiners of classes 10 and 12 either,” said Association president Dilshad Thobani.
Earlier, the department had announced that all students from classes 1 to 8 would automatically be promoted to the next grade. Later, the department announced the same decision for students of classes 11 as well.
Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) had earlier also cancelled the Maharashtra SSC Board last paper.
As per a media report, in a recent meeting chaired by School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad, the department is planning to begin the evaluation process of SSC Board answer sheets, in order to announce the Maharashtra SSC Result 2020 at the earliest.
The department has yet to make a decision on the marking scheme for SSC papers. “A proposal has been sent to the state board, which is in the process of finalizing the same,” the official said.
