SRM Institute of Science and Technology student bags INR 1 crore package from Amazon

The placement season witnessed overwhelming offers from recruiters. Over 1000 companies visited SRMIST and placed over 10,000 young minds this placement season.

SRMIST Placement 2022: A final year student of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) Puranjay Mohan has bagged a 1 crore per annum (1 lakh + emoluments in Euros) package from Amazon Germany for Software development role (Embedded systems- Linux kernel developer). Founder Chancellor of SRMIST Dr T R Paarivendhar made the announcement regarding the whopping offer bagged by the student at a press meet held at Ramada Plaza Chennai, Guindy.

Pro Chancellor (Academics) Dr P Sathyanarayanan; Vice-Chancellor Dr C Muthamizhchelvan; Registrar Dr S Ponnusamy and Director (Career Centre) Venkata Sastry were also present during the press meeting.

Honouring the student with the Illustrious Student Award, Dr Paarivendhar said, “Success of Puranjay will be a role model for others. It is a very proud moment for SRMIST as its students from the non-csc (computer science) branch are also getting placed well this season.”

More than 1,000 companies visited SRMIST

The placement season witnessed overwhelming offers from recruiters. Over 1000 companies visited SRMIST and placed over 10,000 young minds this placement season. About 4000 students received dream offers with nearly INR 10 LPA+, INR 5 LPA+ with over 5200 unique offers so far. Students received offers from companies from the core engineering sector.

The top recruiters such as Amazon, Paypal, Google, Commvault, Morgan Stanley, VM Ware, Bajaj Finserv, Accolite, Toyota, EY GDS, Amdocs, Deloitte, JP Morgan, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, L&T Construction, Honda R&D, IBM, Fidelity, Fiserv, Barclays, Hero Motor Corp, Walmart, John Deere, Philips, Bank Of America, Wells Fargo, Sabre, Siemens, Hitachi, SILICON LABS, Alstom, HPE, Vodafone, Norton Lifelock, Apollo tyres, Air Asia, AB Inbev, NeilsonIQ, MediaTek, KPMG, Loreal(MBA).

2021-22 was a bumper season as the institution made above 10,000 offers from over 1050 companies. There is a sharp increase in the number of students getting placed in above INR 10 lakhs per annum, i.e. 30-40 per cent increase as compared to previous years. Among CS/IT, the institution almost touched the average of INR 9.5 LPA.
