AIIA Director recommends doing yoga and taking herbal supplement to deal with Covid

In a national TV show, All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, Director Dr Tanuja Nesari has spoken about how to deal with Covid and post Covid issues with the help of yoga and Ayurveda.

On a TV program on DD News Hindi, she said that the danger of the Covid-19 pandemic is still not over and people must continue following the Covid-19 appropriate behaviour.

She said, "Every virus has a cycle of peak and valley and now is the time when the Omicron cases have declined after touching its peak, it doesn't mean that it has finished entirely and hence we still need to follow the Covid appropriate behaviour including wearing masks and following the social distancing and we should also include yoga and Ayurveda to deal with pandemic related issues."

"We must take herbal supplements to boost our immunity as the pandemic has taught us that we must have a strong immunity system to deal with the virus related issues."

She recommended taking Indian gooseberry (amla), seasonal fruits and ayurvedic medicines like ashwagandha and giloy.

"We have made a protocol in the AIIA that includes 15 to 20 minutes of yoga and pranayama in the morning and evening and whose immunity reduced during the post-Covid phase, we have given them the ashwagandha and giloy," she added.

Ministry of Ayush has tweeted today, "The Director of @AIIA_NDelhi Dr @tnesari talks about how yoga and ayurveda can be used to treat Covid and post Covid issues in @DDNewsHindi program Total Health. She says the risk is still not over and everyone must follow Covid appropriate behaviour."
