Tamil Nadu schools have decided to conduct 3-week bridge courses for Classes 9 to 14. The decision to conduct these bridge courses has been taken by Tamil Nadu Education Department. Tamil Nadu State Council for Education Research and Traning, TN SCERT has prepared the syllabus for the 3-week courses. Under these courses, students will be brushed up with the basic concepts that they have already learned earlier. An academician associated with making the content for the bridge course from SCERT said, "This is to help teachers in teaching all the topics again."

He further informed that these courses will include topics taught by the teachers online. The Language course will focus on Writing Skills, Reading Skills, and Grammar. However, some teachers, according to reports, are of the opinion that the 3-week bridge course will be beneficial for those students who attend physical classes.

Tamil Nadu Schools are expected to re-open from September 1, 2021. School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyymozhi will be having a meeting with the Chief Educational Officers of Tamil Nadu on August 19, 2021. The meeting is being conducted to discuss the COVID-19 situation in the area and the possibilities of school reopening.

Reports suggest that while several academicians and teachers, want schools to open in the state. The health department is not very eager about the same. Meanwhile, several states have already started reopening schools with the declining numbers of the COVID-19 cases in the respective states. Uttar Pradesh resumed physical classes with 50% capacity.
