Lucknow University to Introduce Integrated BEd Course After Class 12; Details

Upon graduation, students will be able to teach at secondary, senior secondary levels and also will be eligible to appear for CTET and other teaching qualification exams. The BEd course curriculum will be in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020.

Lucknow University Integrated BEd course

Lucknow University (LU) to introduce a four-year integrated Bachelor of Education (BEd) programme for class 12 passed students. This programme will have a BEd curriculum with a traditional undergraduate degree. Students will be able to select a major subject while getting a BEd degree from Lucknow University. 

Benefits of Lucknow University Integrated BEd Course

The Integrated BEd course at Lucknow University will enable the qualifying students to become a teachers at secondary or senior secondary levels. By getting professional training under the programme, students will be able to start their own institutions for teaching students. Further, graduate students will be eligible to appear for the Central Teachers' Eligibility Test (CTET) and other teaching examinations. 

“Currently, individuals interested in becoming teachers must first complete a bachelor’s degree with a specialisation in the subject they intend to teach,” following that, they need to pursue a separate two-year BEd programme to qualify for teaching positions, particularly in government schools and state-run exams,” said Dinesh Kumar, head of the education department. As reported by the Times of India. 

The BEd course curriculum will be in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020. The curriculum will be as per the norms issued by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Through this programme, students will be skilled and have all the necessary experience required for teaching skills.
