UGC NET 2017 Exam Dates & Application Process
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the date for commencement of UGC NET November 2017 registrations. Candidates can now start filling UGC NET application form from August 11, 2017 onwards. The detailed notification for the same is scheduled to be out on August 4, 2017. As per the previous CBSE notification, UGC NET application process had to start from August 1, 2017.
University Grants Commission’s National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is conducted in order to select candidates for the role of Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor.
CBSE is scheduled to conduct UGC NET 2017 in 84 subjects on November 5 at 91 exam centres spread across the country.
UGC NET 2017 exam pattern is such that there are three papers – Paper I, II, and III. Candidates need to appear for each paper in order to qualify the exam. While Paper I contains 60 questions (out of which candidates need to attempt 50 questions), Paper II and III contain 50 and 75 questions each.

How to Fill UGC NET 2017 Application Form?
For CBSE UGC NET 2017 registrations, candidates need to fill the application form in the online mode.
To fill UGC NET 2017 application form in the online mode, candidates first need to visit the Login Page of CBSE NET website and click, “Apply for NET 2017” link. On clicking the link, a new page will open. Click “Proceed to Apply Online” link present at the bottom of the page. Thereafter, follow the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Fill UGC NET Application Form
Details to be filled in the form include:
• Exam related details: Here, candidates need to select their preference for UGC NET exam centres. Also, candidates need to select the subject as well as the role (Assistant Professor/ JRF and Assistant Professor) they want to opt.
• Personal information: This section includes candidate details such as name, gender, parents’ name, mobile number, email address, date of birth, etc.
• Mailing address
• Permanent address
• Educational qualification: This includes filling up of details such as subject of postgraduate exam, status of post-graduation (passed/ appearing), university name, year of passing post-graduation, status of MPhil and PhD (passed/ appearing/ not appearing), etc.
• Password generation: Here candidates need to create their password.
• Security pin: This involves filling up the security pin already given on the page.
After all the details are filled, candidates need to click on the “Next” button. On clicking the button, candidates will be redirected to a new page.
Step 2: Upload Images and Signature
Next, candidates need to upload their scanned images and signature. The scanned images and signature should be in JPEG format.
The size and dimensions of photo image is as mentioned below:

Step 3: Pay UGC NET Application Fee
Candidates can pay UGC NET 2017 application fee in two ways:
• Bank challan: Candidates need to select a bank (Syndicate/Canara/HDFC/ICICI) in order to deposit the application fee through e-Challan mode. As soon as candidates select a bank, an e-challan will be generated. Candidates need to take a printout of the e-challan and deposit it at the nearest branch of the bank selected.
• Debit/ credit card: Candidates need to select the debit/ credit card option present on the page and pay the fee electronically.

Step 4: Download the Confirmation Page
Lastly, candidates need to take a printout of the Confirmation Page and keep it for future reference.
