Many Ukraine returned MBBS students and their parents gathered at the Jantar Mantar on Sunday and requested the government to provide admission to these students to the Indian medical colleges.

The students held placards that said, “Help all Indian MBBS students of Ukraine” and “Save the career of Indian students”.

"We are not protesting, we are requesting the government to accommodate our children in colleges. All parents have come to Delhi to request the government to accommodate their children in Indian medical colleges. We met our Chief Minister, Union Minister Anurag Thakur and others," said one of the parents, as reported by India Today.

Odisha's Ukraine returned MBBS students met Education Minister

Around 100 Odisha medical students who have returned from the war-hit country Ukraine met the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during his visit to the Capital City on Saturday and submitted a memorandum to him seeking admission to Indian medical colleges.

“The quality of medical education in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan is not good. In the European countries, we will again have to learn the local language and affording the medical fees is next to impossible now having already spent a lot of money in Ukraine,” the students said in the memorandum, as reported by Indian Express.

So far, Ukraine returned MBBS students who have graduated from medical colleges in Ukraine are allowed to complete their internship in India provided they clear the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE).
