UP Govt provides 100 beds in all UP medical colleges to deal with Omicron
Uttar Pradesh government has arranged as many as 100 beds in all medical colleges, 50 new beds in CHCs and PHCs.
Amid the Omicron scare, the Uttar Pradesh government is making essential preparations to deal with any infection from this new variant of Covid-19.
As per Chief Minister's Office, 100 beds are arranged in all medical colleges in UP and 50 new beds in Community Health Centers (CHCs) and Primary Health Centre (PHCs) to deal with Omicron cases in future. Moreover, the UP government is keeping a close eye on arrangements related to labs, beds, and oxygen.
Nearly 855 CHCs and 3,011 PHCs are being equipped with all advanced facilities. Around 73,000 monitoring committees have been assigned the responsibility to ensure that all instructions with regard to the Omicron variant are being followed.
While the Omicron cases have been detected in New Delhi, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, there are no cases reported in UP so far.
Ever since the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic got over, the UP government is working towards notching up the healthcare infrastructure in the state. UP government is getting all support from the Central government for doing so. In October this year, Prime Minister Modi had inaugurated nine medical colleges in UP and tomorrow on December 7, he is all set to unveil the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Gorakhpur.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the concerned officials to speed up the vaccination program in the state and strictly follow all the guidelines of the health advisory committee. The state government has increased the preparedness in all districts of the state and increased cleanliness.
