UP schools to reopen from September 1 following COVID-19 protocols

Considering the COVID-19 norms, all the educational institutions have been instructed to conduct studies in two shifts in order to maintain social distancing and prevent COVID-19 spread.

UP School Reopening: Uttar Pradesh schools are expected to reopen from September 1 adhering to all COVID-19 protocols. UP government has already announced the resumption of physical classes for students from Classes 9 to 12 from August 16, 2021. Considering the COVID-19 norms, all the educational institutions have been instructed to conduct studies in two shifts in order to maintain social distancing and prevent COVID-19 spread. Further, the admission procedure for junior high schools will also start from August 16, 2021.

Following the declining cases of the novel coronavirus UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a meeting about the reopening of schools and mentioned that classes can now reopen. It should be mentioned that students have to follow safety protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, using hand sanitizers. The schools will be reopened following the detailed SOP with regards to precautions to be taken against COVID-19 as will be given by the government. Before and even after reopening, every educational institutions are directed to sanitize and disinfect every classroom, maintain social distancing for the safety and well-being of the students.

Apart from schools, the UP government also allowed the re-opening of colleges in the state from September 1, 2021. The decision was taken by the government after witnessing a decline in the number of COVID-19 cases. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also mentioned that full care should be taken of the well-being of the students and the feelings of the parents should be taken into consideration.

Several other states including Delhi, parts of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and more have decided to resume offline classes with the decreasing numbers of the COVID-19 cases in the country and the increased vaccination drive.
