UPSC 2021 Results: PM Modi wishes luck to candidates who couldn't clear Exam

Shruti Sharma, an alumnus of St Stephens College and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has secured Rank 1.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the candidates who have cleared the UPSC Civil Services 2021 exam. Modi has also wished luck to candidates who could not clear the exam this year.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today announced the final results for the UPSC Civil Services exam 2021. As many as 685 candidates have been selected against 785 vacancies.

Shruti Sharma, an alumnus of St Stephens College and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has secured Rank 1. While The second rank was achieved by Ankita Agarwal and Gamini Singhla has secured the third rank in the UPSC Civil Services 2021 exam.

Wishing best wishes to candidates who could not pass the exam, PM Modi wrote on Twitter: “I fully understand the disappointment of those who couldn’t clear the Civil Services Exam but I also know that these are outstanding youngsters who will make a mark in any field they pursue and make India proud. My best wishes to them.”

The top three positions have been secured by female candidates this year. 308 selected candidates belong to General Category, 73 candidates have been selected under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category and 203 OBC, 105 SC and 60 ST category candidates. Candidates can check their respective results from the official website — upsc.gov.in.

UPSC announced Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2021 result on March 17. Those who cleared it were called for the interview round (personality test). The personality test was held from April 5 to May 26, 2022.
