WBUHS defers exams amid COVID spike

As per the official notice, the exams will be held only after issuing an intimation 15 days prior to the date of commencement of the examinations. 

Amid the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) has decided to postpone all medical examinations till further notice. As per the official notice, the exams will be held only after issuing an intimation 15 days prior to the date of commencement of the examinations. 

All exams, including MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BASLP, BPT, BOT, MPhil in Regenerative Medicine and Translational Science, MSc in Human Genetics and MD in Homeopathy, have been postponed. 

The official notice issued by the university read, “This is to inform all concerned that all impending examinations which are to be conducted by the West Bengal University of Health Sciences are being postponed with effect from January 7, 2022, due to the surge in the Covid-19 situation. This will remain effective till further notice in this regard.” 

It further read, “Conduction of exams will resume onky after issuing intimation 15 days prior from the date of commencement of exams.” Students are advised to keep visiting the official website of the West Bengal University of Health Sciences for any update regarding the examination schedule.  

Meanwhile, many medical colleges in India are planning to switch to the online mode considering the worsening COVID situation across various states. They have also asked students to vacate hostels as they were getting infected.
