India Post recruitment: 3951 positions for Gramin Dak Sevaks in UP

For the recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), India Post Office has invited online applications on its official website. On March 23, 2020, the online registration process commenced. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the post online at appost.in on or before April 22, 2020. For its Uttar Pradesh circle, India Post office is holding the hiring drive to fill 3951 vacancies of GDS. Out of the total vacancies, 314 vacancies are assigned for the EWS category, 1000 are allotted for OBC, 750 for SC, 11 for ST, 29 for PWD-A, 24 for PWD-B, 9 for PWD-C, and 1814 for unreserved category.

Eligibility criteria

Age limit

As on March 23, 2020, a candidate should be between 18 to 40 years old. There will be a relaxation of five years for SC, three years for OBC, and 10 years for physically handicapped candidates.

Educational Qualification

• A candidate should have cleared class 10 from any affiliated board of school education. Preference will be given to those candidates who have passed the class 10 boards in the first attempt
• Knowledge of Hindi language for any candidate is a necessity

A candidate is meant to provide 60 days of the basic computer training certificate from any computer training institute operated by Universities / Boards / Private Institutions/ Central/State Government. Nevertheless, if a candidate has studied computer as a subject in matriculation or class 12th or at any other higher educational level, the prerequisite of a basic computer knowledge certificate shall be relaxed.
