Finance Ministry has announced that IBPS Clerk 2021 exam will be conducted in regional languages too along with English and Hindi. This will also apply to SBI vacancies in the future.

IBPS Clerk 2021 exam to be conducted in regional languages

The Ministry of Finance on September 30 has recommended holding of IBPS Clerk 2021 exam in regional languages too. In an official statement, the Finance Ministry has said that going forward the prelims and mains exams for Clerical recruitments in twelve Public Sector Banks (PSBs) will be conducted in the 13 regional languages along with English and Hindi.

The decision has been taken based on the recommendation of a committee that was constituted by the Ministry of Finance to look into the matter of holding the examinations for Clerical Cadre in PSBs in regional languages. Amid the language row, the ongoing recruitment process of IBPS Clerk 2021 was kept on hold until the recommendations of the committee were made available.

The committee worked with an aim of providing a uniform opportunity to the local youth for employment opportunities and have an upper hand with the customers through local/regional languages.

The official statement also stated that the decision of holding Clerical Cadre exams in regional languages will also apply to the future SBI vacancies. The ongoing recruitment process of SBI for the vacancies that are already advertised and for which preliminary exams had been held will be completed as per the advertisement.

IBPS Clerk 2021 notification is expected to be announced soon as the Finance Ministry has announced its decision on holding the exam in regional languages. IBPS Clerk application process will begin after the release of notification.
