Maharashtra Police Constable Recruitment 2020: Notification for 12,528 vacancies soon

Maharashtra cabinet has given nod for the recruitment of police constable to fill up 12,528 vacancies, notification to be released soon.

In a major recruitment drive, the Maharashtra government will soon release a notification for the recruitment of constables for Maharashtra police. The recruitment drive aims at filling up 12,528 constable vacancies lying vacant for several years. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said this in a statement. 

In 2019, a total of 5,297 posts for police constable were created, while in 2020, 6726 posts were created. Alongside, newly created police commissionerates in Mira Bhayandar and Vasai will add up 505 and 975 vacancies respectively.

Candidates between 18 to 28 years of age can apply for the vacancies of constable. Candidates should possess 12th class from a recognized board.
After recruitment, the Maharashtra police constable salary will be in the range of Rs 5200-20200 with grade pay of Rs 2000.

Once the notification is out, eligible candidates can start applying on the official website of Maharashtra police, www.mahapolice.gov.in. The application fee is most likely to be Rs 450 for general category candidates and Rs 350 for reserved category candidates.

 Maharashtra police constable selection process includes several stages such as written test, Physical endurance test and medical test. Topics of the written tests are general knowledge and current affairs, arithmetics, IQ test, Marathi language test etc. For constable driver posts, having a driving license along with experience in driving is mandatory. The detailed syllabus and exam pattern will be updated later.
