The Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal, said in a written reply in Lok Sabha that RRB NTPC and RRB Group exams will be conducted after assessing the ground situation due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal, in a written reply in Lok Sabha said that RRB NTPC and RRB Group D 2020 exams will be conducted after assessing the ground situation prevailing due to COVID-19. Based on the current assessment of the pandemic situation, Indian Railways has planned to start a computer-based test for the notified vacancies from December 15.

Modifications in RRB NTPC Tender Notice

Meanwhile, the Railways have made certain modifications in the tender notice of RRB NTPC. A new para on guidelines for conduct of computer based tests in COVID-19 scenario is added. While conducting the exam, the examination conducting agency has to follow all safety measures due to COVID-19 such as social distancing norms, sanitisation process, etc. For this, the railways have increased the amount of the tender. The modified cost of the tender is Rs 375,93,87,240.

Finalisation of Exam Conducting Agency

The date of the technical bidding of RRB NTPC has not been changed. The bidding has started on September 21. The tender will close on October 5, 2020. The exam conducting agency will be finalised in October or November.

Release of RRB NTPC Application Form Status

On the other hand, Railways has released RRB NTPC 2020 application form status. Candidates can check the status of their application either accepted or rejected till September 30.

Status of RRB Group D 2019 and RRB ALP 2018 Recruitments

The recruitment process for the RRB Group D 2019 and RRB ALP has been concluded. However, several candidates for the posts of ALP are yet to get an appointment letter. In this regard, the Railway Minister said that the process of appointment has been resumed post unlock in a phased manner.

The empanelment of candidates for the posts of RRB ALP has been completed. Piyush Goyal further informed that the occurrence and filling up of vacancies is a continuous process and the same is filled by the placement of indents by Railways with recruitment agencies as per operational requirements. During this process, whenever vacancies arise these are filled.

Out of the 47.45 lakh candidates who had applied for the ALP posts, 56,378 candidates were selected. The appointment letters have been issued to 40,420 candidates (22,223 ALPs and 18,197 technicians). The training of newly recruited 19,120 candidates will commence once the lockdown is lifted. The rest of the selected candidates will get offer letters in a phased manner as training of batches completed.
