Coronavirus Impact on SSC Exam Dates 2020

The outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has not just impacted the Indian economy but the education sector in a big way. The exam schedules of the major competitive exams in sectors such as banking, defence and UPSC have been postponed as a precautionary move against the novel virus – COVID-19.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has also postponed various exams conducted by it such as Combined Graduate Level (CGL), Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL), Junior Engineer (JE), etc. The commission has also released new SSC exam dates on which the postponed exams will be conducted.

SSC CGL Tier-II & -III 2019-20 exam

The aspirants of the SSC CGL exam turned out lucky as the tier-I paper was conducted smoothly from March 3-9, 2020. However, the SSC CGL tier-II 2019-20 paper has been postponed to be conducted from November 15-18, 2020. Also, SSC CGL tier-III 2019-20 exam has been postponed to be held on November 22, 2020. SSC Earlier, SSC CGL tier-II and -III exams were scheduled to be held from June 22-25.

SSC CGL Tier-III Result 2018-19

SSC CGL result 2018-19 for tier-III exam was scheduled to be out on May 8, 2020. Currently, the result is scheduled to be out on October 4, 2020. 

SSC CHSL Tier-I 2019-20 exam

The SSC CHSL tier-I 2020 exam commenced on March 17 and was to be continued till March 28. However, due to Coronavirus outbreak SSC called off the tier-I exam with effect from March 20. This means that the CHSL exam conducted from March 17-19 is still valid. However, candidates who were to appear for the exam between March 20 and March 28 will now have to give the exam on a day from either October 12-16, October 19-21 or October 26.

Although the Staff Selection Commission did not cancel the exam earlier, it was taking all necessary measures to ensure safety of the candidates at the test centre. For instance, no biometric registration of candidates was conducted at the centres. Also, candidates were allowed to wear masks during the examination. Read: SSC CHSL 2020: Important Notice Issued

SSC CGL 2020-21 Notification

SSC CGL notification 2020 was scheduled to be released on September 15. However, the notification will be delayed and will now be out on December 21.

SSC JE Notification 2020-21

SSC JE 2020 notification was to be released on August 4. However, the notification was delayed and will now be released by the commission on October 1, 2020. 

SSC JE Paper-I 2019-20 exam

The SSC JE paper-I 2020 exam was scheduled to commence on March 30 and end on April 2. The SSC JE admit cards 2020 had also started releasing for different regions. However, as a precautionary move, the Staff Selection Commission cancelled the examination. The exam will now be conducted from October 27-30 and on December 11 for candidates who opted for exam centres in Bihar.

SSC JE Paper-II 2019-20 exam

SSC JE paper-II was scheduled to be held on January 31, 2021. However, the exam has been postponed to be held on March 21, 2021.

SSC JE Paper-II Result 2018-19

The SSC JE paper-II 2018-19 result was scheduled to be declared on April 9, 2020. However, the same was postponed and the SSC JE result will now be out on 21-Sep-2020. 

SSC GD Constable DME 2018 

The Staff Selection Commission postponed the SSC GD Constable 2018 Detailed Medical Exam (DME) that was scheduled to be held from March 26 to April 7, 2020. The commission also postponed the SSC GD Constable 2018 Review Medical Exam (RME) that was scheduled to be held from March 24 to April 30, 2020. Later, SSC GD DME 2018 was held from August 24 to September 10, 2020. Also, SSC GD RME exam will be conducted from September 14 to November 10, 2020.

SSC Stenographer 2020 Notification

SSC Stenographer notification 2020 was scheduled to be out on August 4. However, the same was postponed due to COVID-19. The notification will now be out on October 10. 

SSC Stenographer 2019-20 exam

SSC Stenographer 2019-20 CBT exam was scheduled to be held from May 5-7, 2020. Thereafter, the exam was postponed to be held from November 16-18, 2020. Now, the exam has been postponed again to be held from December 24-30. 

SSC CPO Paper-II 2019-20 exam

Paper-II of SSC CPO 2019-20 exam was scheduled to be conducted on June 21, 2020. The commission, however, postponed the exam due to COVID-19. The exam will now be held on March 26, 2021.  

SSC CPO Medical 2018 exam

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) postponed the ongoing SSC CPO medical exam 2018 with effect from March 23, 2020. The fresh SSC CPO medical exam dates will be announced in due time. Read: Coronavirus: SSC CPO 2018 medical exam postponed

SSC JHT 2020 exam

SSC JHT 2020 notification was released on June 29. Earlier, the paper-I of SSC JHT 2020 exam was scheduled to be held on October 1. However, it has now been postponed to be conducted on November 19. 

SSC MTS 2020 Notification

SSC MTS notification 2020 was to be released on June 2. However, the same was postponed and will now be released on February 2, 2021. The SSC MTS 2020 exam was scheduled to be held from September 26 to November 13. However, the exam will now be held from July 1-20, 2021. 

SSC MTS Paper-II 2019-20 Result

The SSC MTS result 2019 for paper-II was to be released on April 30, 2020. However, the result will now be out on 31-Oct-2020.

SSC GD 2021 exam

The Staff Selection Commission will release the SSC GD 2021 notification on March 25. The Computer-Based Test (CBT) of SSC GD 2021 will be conducted from August 2-25.

SSC JHT 2019-20 exam

The SSC Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) exam is over now. The paper-I of SSC JHT exam was conducted on November 26. The SSC JHT paper-II was held on February 16.

SSC CHSL 2020 Notification

SSC CHSL notification 2020 is scheduled to be released by Staff Selection Commission on November 6.
