SSC CGL, CHSL, JE & Stenographer Grade C & D exam dates to be announced after June 1

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in a review meeting held on May 21, has decided to take a decision on the exam dates for Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level (Tier-I) 2020, Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2020, Junior Engineer (Paper-I) exam 2020, Stenographer Grade C & D 2019-20 and CHSL 2018 Skill Test after June 1. The commission will also announce the results of SSC JE paper-II 2018, SSC MTS paper-II 2019, SSC CGL tier-I 2020, SSC CGL tier-III 2018 after the lockdown.

What official notice reads?

The official notice issued by SSC regarding this reads, “The Staff Selection Commission has reviewed the situation arising out of Corona Virus Pandemic on May 21, 2020. It has been noted that the government has extended the lockdown in the country till May 31, 2020.”

“Keeping in view the above and in continuation to the information provided in the notices dated March 19, April 16, April 24 and May 4, the Commission has decided that the situation will be reviewed on June 1, before taking a decision regarding announcements of schedules of the examinations of the Commission,” the notice further reads.

Exams deferred by SSC 

SSC CHSL Tier-I exam commenced on March 17 and was scheduled to end on March 28. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, the remaining exams were deferred by SSC with effect from March 20. Similarly, SSC JE Paper 1 exam which scheduled to take place from March 30 to April 2 was also postponed. SSC Stenographer Grade C & D 2019-20 which was scheduled to be conducted from May 5 to 7, 2020 was postponed due to the emergent situation.

SSC had also postponed the ongoing medical test of SSC CPO 2019-20 with effect from March 23, 2020.  SSC GD Constable Detailed Medical Exam (DME) that was scheduled to be held from March 26 to April 7 was also postponed. Also, the commission had postponed the SSC GD Constable Review Medical Exam (RME) that was scheduled to be held from March 24 to April 30.

Notifications delayed by SSC

On the other hand, SSC CPO 2020 notification & SSC JHT 2020 notification were also delayed by the commission. The exam notifications were scheduled to be released on April 17.

Results postponed due to COVID-19

The commission had also postponed the declaration of results for its various exams. SSC JE result 2018 result for Paper-II was scheduled to be announced on April 9, however, it was postponed. SSC MTS 2019 Paper II result was scheduled to be announced on April 30 but was delayed. SSC CGL result 2018 for Tier-III was to be announced on May 8 but was postponed. SSC CGL Tier-I 2020 result was also delayed.
