Calicut University MSc admission 2021 is conducted through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) called PGCAP. CAP offers the facility for online submission of application to various colleges and programmes under Calicut University. Also known as the University of Calicut, it is a state university that offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and doctoral programmes, under 35 different departments divided into nine schools, for different streams, such as Engineering, Science, Law, Commerce and Management, among others. Calicut University MSc Admission 2021

Calicut University MSc admission is based on the entrance exam. Available in over 20 specialisations, this is a two-year programme. However, there are a few MA programmes for which other factors come into consideration while final selection. For all these MSc specialisations, OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to get a relaxation up to 5% and SC/ST candidates can apply with a pass certificate. The minimum eligibility criteria required for General category candidates along with a list of specialisations available under MSc is as follows:

BSc with Psychology as the core (main) subject

Chemistry

BSc with Chemistry/ Industrial Chemistry/ Polymer Chemistry (main) or equivalent degree with Mathematics as one of its subsidiaries with at least 50% marks aggregate

Zoology

BSc equivalent/recognised degree with Zoology (main) with (at least) 50% aggregate

Electronics

BSc in Electronics / Physics / Computer Science / Instrumentation or an equivalent degree studied Electronics as one of the subjects and Mathematics as a compulsory subject with 50% aggregate

Botany

A UG degree in Botany or Plant Science with a minimum of 50% aggregate in the main (core) subject

Microbiology

BSc Microbiology with Microbiology with at least 50% aggregate

Statistics

At least 50% aggregate in Statistics/ Applied Statistics/ Mathematics & Statistics (Double Main)/ Mathematics (Main) with Statistics as one of the subsidiaries in the BSc degree

Mathematics

BSc in Mathematics or an equivalent degree with at least 50% aggregate

Physics

BSc in Physics/Applied Physics (Core) with Mathematics as compulsory subject with 50% aggregate

Biochemistry

A pass in BSc in Biochemistry with at least 50% aggregate

Clinical Psychology

A pass in BA/BSc Psychology with Psychology as the main subject

Polymer Chemistry

BSc in Polymer Chemistry/ Chemistry/ Industrial Chemistry/ Chemistry alternative pattern with Mathematics as one of the subjects or equivalent degree with at least 50% aggregate

Applied Geology

A pass in BSc in Geology or BSc with any two of the complementary subjects Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Remote Sensing & GIS with a minimum of 50% aggregate

Aquaculture and Fishery Microbiology

BSc degree with Zoology /Aquaculture/ Microbiology/ Fishery Science/Industrial Fisheries or equivalent degree with at least 50% aggregate

Home Science - Nutrition and Dietetics

BSc in Home Science/ Family & Community Science/ Dietetics/ Clinical Nutrition/ Food Science with Quality Control/ Food Science and Nutrition/ Food Service Management and Dietetics or other Nutrition-related subjects with at least 50% aggregate

Calicut University MSc application process 2021 is completely online. Students need to apply for PGCAP along with the course-specific entrance exams conducted by the University. The following infographic shows the four-step application process of Calicut University:

On the official website (www.cuonline.ac.in), visit the registration link (provided on the webpage) and complete the following step-by-step process:

Step 1: Initially create a CAP ID by providing the basic details after clicking on the ‘New User (Create CAP ID)’ on the registration page.

Step 2: After successful submission of the details, a CAP ID and password is sent to the registered mobile number instantly.

Step 3:  With the CAP ID and password received on the registered mobile number, log in and fill the application form by entering the required data. Utmost attention needs to be paid while selecting the reservation category while form filling.

Step 4: After completing the registration form, click on ‘Finalise & Proceed to Payment’ button and make payment.
