The University of Delhi popularly known as Delhi University (DU) receives approximately around 2.58 lakh applications to fill up nearly 63,000 undergraduate seats which are offered by various affiliated colleges of the university. Delhi University is one of the most sought-after universities in the country when it comes to pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate education. DU has been known for having extremely high cutoffs, with first few rounds ranging between 90-100 percent at most of its colleges in streams like Commerce and Science. This creates a lot confusion among students in shortlisting the perfect course and college at the Delhi University based on their preferred course.

With an aim to give equal opportunity to students, the Delhi University from this year onwards, admission at Delhi University will be done through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) score. The entrance examination that the aspirants will be giving for UG courses is CUET UG 2023 and for PG courses is CUET PG 2023.

The Ministry of Education conducts an annual excercise of ranking of education institutions in the country, National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), DU colleges are also ranked in the NIRF Ranking and a good number of them feature among the top 10 colleges in the country. DEEN DAYAL UPADHYAY COLLEGE

Year of Establishment: 1990

Recently shifted to Dwarka, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College was initially located at Karampura. The college receives a 100% grant from the Government of NCT of Delhi. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College of DU has a student strength of 2,531. Out of this number 1,422 are male students and the remaining 1,109 are female students. GARGI COLLEGE

Year of Establishment: 1967

An all-girls’ college, DU’s Gargi College is a part of the South Campus of the university. The college is known to have a strength of 3,500 students and is known to house 180 faculty members. Candidates can secure admission in arts, commerce as well as science stream courses at the college at the undergraduate level. PG courses offered at the college include – MA English, MA Political Science and MSc Chemistry.

Q:   Which is the best course at Hansraj college?

A:

The top courses offered at Hans Raj College are B.Sc, B.Com, M.Com, and others. In order to get into BSc and BCom, students are required to appear for the CUET exam. Final admission to MCom, however, is subject to CUET-PG scores. There is no provision for direct admission. To apply for admission to Hans Raj College, Delhi, you need to follow the standard admission process. The college usually releases its admission notification in May or June, and the application process is online.

The admission process after CUET result declaration is explained below:

Step 1: After the declaration of the CUET UG exam, register on the DU CSAS portal in multiple phases.

Step 2: Submit College + Course combination preferences in the order of priority on the CSAS dashboard. Here aspirants of Hansraj College should select their desired course and Hansraj College as the preferred combination.

Step 3: The University has released the dates for three DU CSAS Seat Allocation Lists which will be out on August 1, August 10 and August 22, 2023, respectively for all categories. 

  • The "freeze" option in seat allocation for CSAS (DU) is to be selected by the students to confirm their admission choice to the allocated college and course at DU.
  • If candidates are happy with the assigned college and course, they can freeze the request through their dashboard.
  • Once they select this option, they will not be considered for "upgradation" of choice in further rounds of CSAS.
  • Candidates must only select this option only if they are satisfied with the allocated seat and want to take admission to this course & college
  • If they do not choose to upgrade or freeze your admission, their current status will be maintained.

Step 4: Once the candidate "Accept" the provisionally allocated seat, the concerned college will verify the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate online. The college has an option to 'Accept' or 'Reject' the admission of the student basis the verification. 

Step 5: Once the DU-affiliated college accords the approval, candidates will have to pay the 'Admission Fee' to confirm their seat. 

On the basis of the availability of seats due to rejections, cancellations, and withdrawals, DU may announce multiple allocation rounds. The University of Delhi will display the vacant seats on its admission website (admission.uod.ac.in) before every allocation round. 

Q:   Which course is Miranda House College famous for?

A:

The modes of Miranda House course admissions are offline and online. Admission to various courses is based on merit and scores of entrance tests. At the undergraduate level, Miranda House College offers three-year BA, BSc, and several other courses. At the postgraduate level, the college provides MA, MSc, and various other programmes to students. Miranda House Delhi also provides certificate, foreign language, add-on, remedial, and bridge programmes to students. The college is famous for its BSc, MSc, and various other courses.

BA (Hons) in Psychology is offered by Lady Shri Ram College by its Psychology department. Admission to the course is through CUET. This given fee is calculated as per the first-year fee. Psychology is also offered as a subject in the BA programme subject combinations.

Yes, LSR offer a three-year BCom (Hons) course. Admission to the course is based on merit in Central Universities Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by NTA. The students who are Class 12 pass from a recognised board and have a valid CUET score become eligible for admission. There are 76 seats for the BCom (H) course at Lady Shri Ram College.
