Growth opportunities, job prospects are very important aspects and you need to consider these points before you enroll for a course. If you have a deep interest in Biotechnology, you will surely have a fulfilling career. 

  • Pursue higher studies in Life Sciences and Biotech - If you are interested in continuing studies and setting up your strong hold in academia, you can surely continue in this sphere. You need to clear the exams like CSIR NET or GATE Exam, and then go forward in the realm of education and complete your PhD in Biotechnology or complete a Master’s Degree in Technology. If you are able to clear the GATE or CSIR NET exam, you will be able to try and pursue the Masters’ Degree in major institutes in India and abroad. In fact, Singapore for biotech is an extremely lucrative option. Look out for the few top-notch institutes for research in Chennai, Bangalore, and Delhi where doctoral studies can be continued in the field of biotechnology. Though it is a path less travelled, it is one of the best options that you can ever have, especially if you have done a B.SC in Biotechnology. You can start off with a few great patent firms that are in India. You can also apply in KPOs (Knowledge Process Outsourcing). You can then move onto the more technical aspects. If and when you are into the Biotech IP sphere, you would be exposed to various legal matters of the organization. Here, you can pitch in and gain knowledge about various laws related to biotech patents. It would be a great career move in case you want to combine your biotech degree and knowledge of law to become a Biotech Patent Lawyer.

  • Opt for various government sector jobs and autonomous organizations

Technology, health, and life sciences are parts of Biotechnology. There is a large number of job opportunities that you can take up for a lucrative career prospect. The Biotech development in India is controlled by the Department of Biotechnology. It falls under the purview of control of the Ministry of Science and Technology. These are a few industries that post job offers frequently. They advertise for both part-time and full-time jobs. You can apply for jobs on their own premises and build a good career.

After completing a BSc in biotechnology, should I continue with biotechnology or focus on one particular field of biotech? Between an MSc and an MS, which is a better option according to you? and What about the Thapar Institute of Engineering And Technology sholid I join this college?
