BS Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology Hosts Smart India Hackathon 2022 Grand Finale

August 22, 2022: The Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell launched the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) as a national project to give students a forum to address urgent issues facing the administration, various ministries, departments, businesses, and other organisations. As the largest open innovation model in the world, SIH cultivates in students a culture of product invention and problem-solving. Since 2017, SIH has been offered annually to students in higher education in two formats: SIH Software and SIH Hardware Editions. In an effort to foster an innovative culture and a problem-solving mindset among school pupils, the Smart India Hackathon - Junior was also launched this year.

S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology (BSACIST) was chosen as one of the nodal centres to support the Smart India Hackathon Hardware edition for the aforementioned reason. At the B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, a total of 20 teams with 160 individuals are competing against 5 Problem statements from two organisations. Department of Science and Technology and GE Healthcare provide the problem statements. The winning prize for each Problem statement is Rs 1 lakh. The top teams will receive three prizes worth Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 75,000, and Rs. 50,000 each under the student innovation category.

On August 25, 2022, at 9:00 AM, the Ministry of Education will centrally launch the programme.

Since its debut in 2017, the Smart India hackathon's focus has expanded with each passing day. The organisations that provided problem statements and the participating students' expanding participation over time could be attributed to their increased interest. Every year, SIH has an impact on thousands of students and offers them a national platform to put their academic knowledge to the test by solving real-world problems. Their interests are also aligned with those of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The hardware grand finale for the Smart India Hackathon 2022 is set for August 25 through August 29, and the software grand finale is slated for August 25 through August 26. Ministries, departments, PSUs, and commercial entities all contributed a lot of issue statements to the Smart India hackathon. 62 entities submitted 476 problem statements for SIH 2022. More than 15000 students from the winning teams of campus-level hackathons held as part of Smart India Hackathon 2022 will take part in this year's national SIH grand finale. During the SIH 2022 grand finals, these teams will travel to the designated nodal centre and work on these issue statements.

Since the event's start, the Hon. Prime Minister of India has interacted with the student participants. This year, on the evening of August 25, 2022, the PM is anticipated to do so once more.

The Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education, the All India Council for Technical Education, Persistent Systems, and i4c are collaborating to host the Smart India Hackathon 2020. The Smart India Hackathon 2022's media sponsors include Doordarshan and All India Radio. The sponsors of the 2022 Smart India Hackathon include Shell and AWS.

Really Good College with good placement but I feel fees is high.

Placements: More students have been placed who are rightfully skilled in companies. Placement is not that good but it's somewhat fine. Mostly all IT companies come to college and students get placed in that company with an average salary package of 3-4 LPA.
