Brainware University's YouTube Channel Celebrates Tagore's Legacy with 100 Songs

September 21, 2023: Brainware University, led by Founder-Chancellor Phalguni Mookhopadhayay, has started on a musical journey to honor Rabindranath Tagore's timeless work. The institution intends to promote Tagore's lyrical masterpieces to a global audience via its newly formed YouTube channel, to reach 100,000 households globally, both Bengali and non-Bengali. The YouTube channel, which was launched on Rabindra Jayanti, on May 9th, has already received significant traction. The first episode alone has received approximately 25,000 views, demonstrating Tagore's music's international appeal. Phalguni Mookhopadhayay, also the Founder-Chairman and Managing Director of Brainware Consultancy Private Limited and the Founder-Chairman of Webguru Infosystems Private Limited, stated the project's ambition: "Our goal is to reach at least 100,000 households outside India through 100 carefully curated Rabindrasangeet songs."

What distinguishes this endeavor is not only Mookhopadhayay's captivating performances but also the rigorous attention to detail. Anecdotes provide background for each song, including the year of writing, its place in Tagore's literary canon, the subject category (parjaay), and the musical scale (raga). The project began during a COVID-induced lockdown when Phalguni Mookhopadhayay engaged himself in Rabindrasangeet research. "I read almost 62 books before starting on this project," he admitted, despite having no professional musical training. His research found a troubling lack of knowledge about Tagore's work among young students, even in India, and he saw comparable gaps on his international trips. As a tribute to Rabindrasangeet's treasure trove, the YouTube channel was created. Brainware University's YouTube channel is not just a musical endeavor but a heartfelt tribute to Rabindranath Tagore, bridging cultures and languages to preserve the legacy of his enchanting creations for generations to come.

Companies like TOI also take interns from the university. There are different companies for different choices, like editor, photographer, PR, etc. At least 6 students get internships or placements every year. Roles vary as well.

Very bad college. Don't take admission here.

Placements: This year, not many students are placed because the college wasn't able to take much company, and they are unable to give many jobs or do many placements this year. This college takes more money as compared to the other colleges, and there is no good recruiter at all.

I am satisfied with my university.

Placements: Last year placement was almost 30 to 40 percent. The average package, according to me, was around 3 to 4.5 lacs. Tata, Adobe, Deloitte, Capgemini, and so many companies came. I don't know very much about the internships, but I heard from the senior that there are internship opportunities.

The placements were good till 2022.

Placements: Not everyone got placements at Brainware University. Even among those who did, not everyone got good internships. The pre-placement training was not so good that every student could achieve it easily. And those who got selected did not have big numbers in their packages. After 1 year or 6 months, the job companion will terminate you.
