Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.A. LL.B. Programs at CNLU Patna

The placement cell at Chandragupt Institute of Management and Law (CNLU) Patna has varying levels of success in placing B.A. LL.B. students. Here's what students and alumni have to say:

    * Decent placements: Most students get placed in the 4th year, although the exact number of placements varies from year to year.
    * Top companies visiting: Companies like Khaitan and Co, PDS Legal, and ICICI Bank visit the campus for recruitment.
    * Salary packages: Salary packages range from INR8 LPA to INR22 LPA, depending on the company and role.
    * Judicial service preparation: Many students opt for judicial services instead of private sector jobs, thanks to the university's strong track record in judiciary preparations.
    * Internship opportunities: The placement cell offers internship opportunities to students, although some students also secure internships independently.
    * Limited activation: The placement cell may not be extremely proactive in organizing placement drives, leading to limited exposure for students.

    Overall experience is good.
Placements: The placement record at my college is poor, with only four or five students getting pre-placement offers. This is disappointing, but the administration is working to improve the situation.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are air conditioned and have smart LED and properly functioning mic systems, so the teachers' voices come through clearly. The campus is clean and lush green, and the library has separate desks for everyone and is air conditioned.
Faculty: The quality of the professors varies, which can be a problem for students because the collaborative teaching system makes it difficult to keep up with all of them. The course moves at a fast pace, but it prepares students for the rigors that lie ahead. The difficulty level of the exams is quite good, with almost all questions being application-based.
Other: There are many committees that keep the events happening, and the students are very involved. For example, students participate in moot competitions. Overall, it is a very busy life at the university.

I am satisfied with our college.
Placements: Almost 90% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered ranges between 12 LPA - 15 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges between 7 LPA - 8 LPA. The lowest salary package offered ranges between 5 LPA - 8 LPA. Many top MNCs visit our college to recruit students.
Infrastructure: Our college provides us with all facilities like a library, Wi-Fi, and classrooms. A beautiful campus is available in our courses. The food served in the mess is hygienic. The hostel rooms are clean. The canteen is available in addition to the Nescafe and Atrium. The food served in the canteen is good. Medical facilities are available to students. There is an ambulance in case of emergency.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. A few professors are up to the mark. Their teaching style is up to the mark. Many professors are helpful and their teaching quality is good. Semester exams are moderate. The pass percentage is around 80-90%.
Other: I opted for this course to become an advocate or judge who has a lot of knowledge and I wanted to be helpful to others. Our college should improve its faculty members and placements.

Know all about Chanakya National Law University.
Placements: The University has a placement cell but the percentage of students getting placed through the placement cell is very low, 3-4 students each year. The recruiters are usually Khaitan and Co., ICICI, etc. The average package is 18-22 LPA. The top roles offered are associates, legal consultants, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the academic block as well as the hostels are very good. The classrooms are inbuilt with smart digital classrooms, which also facilitate the students to attend the classes online in case they are sick for a prolonged time. WiFi is accessible throughout the campus. There is a computer lab as well. There are separate hostel facilities for girls and boys. Each room has a separate balcony. Hostels have a gym facility, washing machine, badminton court and common hall for indoor games like table tennis and carrom. The mess is in the hostel itself. The food quality is good and meals enriching in nutrients are incorporated in the menu. The college has football, volleyball and basketball courts as well.
Faculty: The faculty is helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They try to impart as much knowledge as possible through their lectures. There are also guest lecturers. The course curriculum is carefully curated to meet contemporary needs and make the students industry-ready. The question papers are very tricky, as they not only test the bookish knowledge but also help the students prepare situation-based questions. The passing marks are 50% of the total marks and the passing percentage of students is nearly 90-95%.
Other: The course is an integrated course and saves time. The campus life is quite jolly and peaceful. There are various different events that occur throughout the year.

Review of Chanakya National Law University.
Placements: The batch of 2018 had just one placement drive, and since then, it's always been 1 or 2 or none. The faculty coordinator or the administration of the university doesn't care much about placements, and their main focus of theirs is on judiciary. So, if you're coming to this university, don't think about getting placed.
Infrastructure: The hostel rooms are pretty nice compared to other NLUs and colleges in general. The food is inconsistent, though. There's a gym and sports facilities. The hostel has two badminton courts in-built. In terms of infrastructure other than that of the hostel, the academic blocks are pretty good with AC in each room, but there's a lack of a proper moot court hall.
Faculty: The faculty members are not very helpful, nor do they have management skills when it comes to handling the class. But the exams are really tough, and the marking schemes are also very strict. There's only a handful of permanent faculty who do not help the college with its reputation.

It is a nice place to study law.
Placements: The placements are low as students opt for higher studies or judicial services preparation. You can get placed if you fight for it. Overall, it is average in terms of placements. Students get placed in banks and different law firms according to their choice.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is up to the mark. There is a huge library along with a nice academic block. You will also get a football ground and other sports facilities like a basketball court, badminton court in hostels etc. There is a canteen in hostels along with two other cafes on the campus.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and very helpful. You get to study in a nice atmosphere with a good curriculum to follow. Semester exams are pretty tough, but you will get through it if you study well. Overall, it's a great place to be.

    Chanakya National Law University Review.
Placements: There are a total of 25% of students placed in this college. The highest placement offered was 24 lacs, and the median package is 9 lacs per annum. The recruiting company is mostly banks and Tier 2 and Tier 3 firms. There are no restrictions on internships. Students get internships at top companies, and many of them are placed in those companies.
Infrastructure: Our college has above-average infrastructure. The classrooms are totally digital and there are unlimited Wi-Fi connections. We have a moot court hall and a conference hall and all classes are air-conditioned. The hostels are below average and there is a scarcity of rooms in the boy hostels. The food is above average in quality but the rooms are double-seated. Good rooms are allotted to those who secure good marks and subsequently, rooms are allotted to the students. The sports culture is not there. Students are also not involved in playing sports.
Faculty: The teaching quality is mixed in nature. Some teachers have an interesting way of teaching and the majority of them are well qualified. Yes, this course curriculum is relevant. This makes the student industry ready. The difficulty level of the semester exam depends on the teachers. They set the question paper in such a way that weak students can get passed; scoring high marks for toppers is difficult.
Other: I love to pursue law, as it is my passion. I chose this college because I got a rank suitable for admission to this college in the CLAT exam. It is an NLU and completing a law from an NLU is very good. CNLU is situated in the middle of the city of Patna and the connectivity is very good. Parliamentary debate is the flagship event of the college, held in the month of September. CNLU does not provide any scholarships. People are engaged in debate and mooting.

+ The curriculum is considered relevant and industry-friendly, helping students prepare for the professional world.

    Placement Opportunities:
+ Placements are limited, with only a few students securing jobs in top organizations.
+ The placement cell provides internship opportunities, but most students rely on self-initiative to find placements.
+ Judiciary is a popular career path among students, with a significant number pursuing judicial services.

    Infrastructure and Facilities:
+ Decent infrastructure, with air-conditioned classrooms, libraries, and Wi-Fi-enabled hostels.
+ The campus is spread across 18 acres, providing ample space for students to relax and engage in extracurricular activities.

    Fees and Financial Support:
+ No scholarships are provided by the university, although students can explore national and international scholarship opportunities.
+ Fees are relatively high compared to other institutions, potentially limiting accessibility.

    Student Life:
+ Annual festivals, debates, and academic events enrich the campus life, fostering a sense of community among students.
+ Limited recreational facilities, including badminton courts, a gym, and a canteen.

Considering these factors, whether B.A. LL.B. at CNLU Patna is worth the investment ultimately depends on individual priorities and goals. For those interested in pursuing judiciary or seeking placements in top organizations, the university may offer adequate resources and opportunities. However, those expecting a robust placement record might need to supplement their efforts outside of the institution.
