What is CLAT Exam?

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a prestigious national-level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs in India. It is organised annually by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs).

Through CLAT, candidates can gain entry into 5-year integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM (PG) programs. The exam facilitates admission to 24 NLUs for UG courses and 21 NLUs for PG courses, including top law institutions like NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad, WBNUJS Kolkata, and NLU Jodhpur.

Admissions to NLUs are based on CLAT scores. Additionally:

  • 61 private law colleges accept CLAT scores for admission.
