Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for M.A. students at Dr BR Ambedkar University Delhi?

    A:
    {Source: M.A. students & alumni}

Success Rate of Placement Cell for M.A. Students

Based on the reviews and statements shared by students and alumni, it appears that there is no dedicated placement cell for M.A. students at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD). As stated by one student:

"However, faculty members do guide regarding research groups, institutions, and openings related to school teaching, and vacancies at government institutions and NGOs."

    Another student mentioned:

"There is no placements from the college because of coronavirus, but otherwise, the placement committee was inviting some organisations which could give us placements."

It seems that while there may not be a formal placement cell specifically for M.A. students, faculty members provide guidance and support in finding job opportunities in various sectors.

    Key Points:

    * No dedicated placement cell for M.A. students at AUD
    * Faculty members offer guidance on job opportunities in education and related fields
    * Some organizations invite students for placements, although this may vary due to circumstances like COVID-19
    * Students typically pursue further studies (Ph.D.) or government exams (UPSC) instead of seeking direct employment

Note: Since there isn't a dedicated placement cell for M.A. students at AUD, the success rate cannot be accurately measured. However, faculty members' efforts to guide students on job opportunities demonstrate some attempts to facilitate career growth.

We have the Partition Museum in our college. It helps us understand the history.
Placements: Placements are pretty decent compared to other colleges, and offers are nice. There is diversity in the roles offered for placements. You can also opt for other options like higher studies, and if you have skills or a hobby to make it full-time, go for it. The startup culture is nice.
Infrastructure: University@city fest, Canadian food fest, Food fest, and many workshops happen in AUD, covering dissertation, theatre, dance, music, design, art, writing, and many more. There is no sports in AUD. There is also an online and offline library in AUD, which helps us a lot during our dissertation period.
Faculty: The exam system is pretty standard. There are 2 exams: mid-sem and end-sem. The overall structure is decided by the professor, and exams are mostly subjective, although this varies by course. You need to complete certain credits during your course, and for that, you can opt for your courses. There are certain sections.

    Crowd and teachers are encouraging.
Placements: Not many placement opportunities are provided by our university. Students have to reach out to companies themselves for jobs. No salary packages are offered or placement campaigns. Students can join off-campus internship programs during their courses in reputed companies.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are not higher in price and have quite an average mess. The quality of food in mess and canteen of our college is average. Infrastructure of our college is above average and has grounds for playing. There is a big auditorium for events.
Faculty: Only thing I loved it was the faculty and teachers there. They were kind and helpful towards students and help them to achieving their goals and score good marks. They are well qualified and knowledgeable. Semester exam had difficulties to pass it. Students had to study hard.

Other: I chose the Gender Studies course because it's multidisciplinary, blending insights from sociology, anthropology, and political science to understand complex gender issues. The best aspects are its diverse perspectives and critical thinking development. Areas for improvement could include improving campus surroundings and increasing campus crowd diversity would also be beneficial.
