A guide to my journey in GCU.

Placements: Only 10% of students secured placements with the highest salary package of 4 LPA and the lowest salary package of 2 LPA. There are no top recruiting companies. It is mandatory for every student to complete a 90-day internship, which must be arranged by themselves. The leading roles available are in journalism, as well as positions as junior editors and designers.

I love Garden City University.

Placements: My class strength is 45. The total package is 300,000, and the first semester fee is 58,500, which includes an exam fee of 3,500. For the final year, all students must do an internship; it’s compulsory. As of now, for the first semester, we can do internships in police stations, which is not provided by other universities.

It is the best college but placements in the college are bad.

Placements: Placements were not at all good, but the college conducted a job fair often. Few companies visited the college to offer placements with nominal salary packages. The roles offered were not up to the standard. Most of the companies that visited were related to the BPO sector. A few companies from airlines sector visited to recruit students for ground level staff, but the selected ones were never called for training. The college is the best in everything except placements. I am highly dissatisfied ...

The infrastructure of the college is good, but the placements are not up to the mark.

Placements: I didn't attend the placement drives, but the placements in the college were okay. Many of us did not get placed in the campus placements because the placement scenario was not that strong. A few of them got recruited by Indigo as air hostesses and ground staff. Most of the students found internships on their own.
