Guest Lecture On Scriptwriting For Mainstream Media
June 4, 2021: GNA University's Faculty of Animation and Multimedia hosted a skilful guest lecture on Script Writing for Mainstream Media. On May 4, 2021, Ravi Shankar Tiwari, Senior Journalist AAJ TAK, spoke to students of journalism and animation about scriptwriting for mainstream media.
The session was more creative, with a lot of new information, and Tiwari broke the ice by telling the researchers how he got this far in the field. From Jamia Milia Islamia student to zee News DNA researcher to extremely known journalist from Aaj Tak. Tiwari provided the students with energising insights into narrative philosophy as it relates to film and television writing. He discussed story structure, the intense arc, plot aspects, and much more. With instructional script-to-news examples ranging from Regional News Channels to National News Channels, he brought the concept to life.
He advised them on how to pitch an article and how to find stories that newspapers and television stations would like to commission. Ravi expressed his thoughts on what a journalist should be like. He asserted that inquisitiveness is the most important attribute in a Broadcaster. Before making any assumptions, he should examine everything about every incidence in detail. The students had the opportunity to hear from a seasoned journalist who readily imparted information while interspersing it with a healthy dose of humour. “As a reporter, you must always inquire, inquire, inquire, and then authenticate,” says the author.
