On Placements

Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for BSc programmes at Jai Narain Vyas University?

A:

Based on the feedback from students and alumni of Jai Narain Vyas University, the placement cell for BSc programmes at Jai Narain Vyas University seems to be limited in its effectiveness. Here are the key points:

No direct involvement: The college did not directly invite companies for walk-in interviews, which may impact the number of placements offered.
Rare visits: Some organisations have shown interest and visited the campus for recruitment, but these instances seem to be rare.
No Training and Placement Cell (TPC): Unfortunately, the university does not have a dedicated TPC to support students in their career development and job prospects.
Students' responsibility: As a result, students must take initiative to prepare for other competitive exams to secure jobs.

Overall, while the placement cell seems to exist, its scope and impact appear to be limited, leaving students largely responsible for securing their own employment opportunities.

Overall, a good place for enjoying college and hostel life.
Placements: I did my graduation from JNVU in Science. You can get admission on the basis of your 12th percentage. It's just a graduation degree, so I think there will be no placements regarding this course. You can do it in physics, chemistry, math, botany, zoology, computer science, etc.
Infrastructure: We have government classrooms that are big enough. Labs are a sufficient account of the course. If you did a B.Sc. in electronics, then extra LAB will also be available there. Overall, there is a lack of teachers and regular lectures. But if you have good behavior and nature with the lab assistant, then you can do a lot of practical work.
Faculty: Yes, all teachers are qualified, but only very few of them will take regular classes. They have knowledge, but they deliver less. This university gave graduation students in mass quantity, so I can think it is industry ready. Nowadays NEP is applied, so I somehow like this scheme of having exams every 5-6 months, which makes students aware of what they are studying.
Other: As per fests, it is very valuable for money; it has a big campus, and you will be in a different zone when studying any course.

Best college in the West or one of the best colleges of Rajasthan .
Placements: The average percentage getting placed in my batch is 70 to 90 percent. The highest package is 1 crore per annum and the lowest is 10 lac per annum in my course. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Google, Microsoft, Infosys, etc. Normally, an 85+ percentage is sufficient to get an internship.
Infrastructure: There are many free Wi-Fis available for students on campus. There are 2 physics laboratories, 3 chemistry laboratories, 1 biology laboratory, and a computer and geology lab also provided on campus. A big library is available for students. There is a big playground for students, and we organize many sports events in our college.
Faculty: There are many teachers for a single subject, and they are all the best in their subjects. Most of them are well qualified and Ph.D. holders. The course curriculum is so relevant, and the college gives them field training. So this way, college-ready students for industry.
Other: I want to study science, so I chose this course, and the best part of this course is the physical knowledge given by teachers. I just want that teachers should teach students with live experiments.

Rare placements and poor facilities.
Placements: There are no placements in this college. Some bank person came for the placement, but we didn't get any job through it. Very few students were placed via college placement, others are still preparing for government jobs or private jobs. Mainly banks like Axis or other private banks came for the placement.
Infrastructure: There were no Wi-Fi facilities. The classrooms were good but they can be improved. The labs were very good with all the equipment and cleanliness. A library which was very clean and peaceful. We got last year's papers and useful books from it easily.
Faculty: The teachers were very talented and helpful and knew very well about their subjects. Teaching quality is good but it wasn't regular so it can be improved. The course curriculum was very relevant. Passing the semester exam was a little harder but not for the dedicated students.
Other: I chose this course to become a teacher. It was necessary to graduate to become a second-grade teacher and I want to become a science teacher so I chose Bachelor of Science. The college is situated in the city, so transportation is very easy and pocket-friendly.

Review of Government College, Sumerpur.
Placements: Our college does not provide placements. Our course provides average salary packages. Sometimes, companies organise skills competitions and students participate in them. Companies select sharp-minded and skilled students. This course is helpful if students are interested in competitive exam preparation and if they are studying science deeply.
Infrastructure: Our college provides very good facilities and infrastructure. I like it. For our department, our college provides big classrooms. They are in good condition. There are labs in the B.Sc. department. A library is available in this college. Our college does not provide a hostel facility, mess, and canteen.
Faculty: Our college has highly educated, intelligent, and very helpful teachers. They are always supportive. They always help students and clear their doubts. They are very knowledgeable. The semester exams are difficult but not impossible. The pass percentage of semester exams is 40%.
Other: I chose this course because I want to study science deeply. The best thing about our course is that it is very helpful for studying science deeply. Our college always organises events like freshers' parties, etc. It also organises sports day every year. Many students participate in all types of games.

This college is just like a machine, which prints degree certificate.
Placements: Placement is not provided for my course. No company offered any placement here.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi facility in the college. Classrooms are nice, if they clean regularly. Condition of the labs is horrible. Medical facilities, games and sports are only seen in the college calendar, but are not conducted.
Faculty: Teachers do not come to the class regularly. Knowledge and behaviour of the teachers are very bad.

A good college for Jodhpuris.
Placements: As a B.Sc. student, there were no placements at my college. The placements were for B.Com. and BCA students. In the BCA class, at least 35–50 percent of students get an average package. 2-3 students get a high package of 6-7 lacs per annum. I did not have any placements for B.Sc. graduates.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is not that extensive. However, it includes places like a cafeteria, a large auditorium, and a regular playground. Wi-Fi is available with a limit of 500 MB. The library is one of the best places in my college, as the staff is good and the books are required for the annual college exams.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers were helpful, and during my time, they were pursuing Masters and Ph.D.s to become university college teachers, as my college is a private college affiliated with Jai Narayan Vyas University. This college does not have semester exams but conducts internal college exams and university annual exams, which are yearly exams.
Other: I wanted to pursue an engineering course, but in my city, it was challenging to get admission to this course of study. So, I opted for a B.Sc. at this college. And this degree is good enough for those students, mostly those who achieve more than a first division (60%) in their graduation.
