JK Lakshmipat University Scholarship Types

The university offers scholarships to UG and PG students mainly on the basis of merit obtained in qualifying exams. Furthermore, a 25% fee waiver is also available for certain category students. Girl students, students from backward castes and other backward areas, pursuing UG programmes are given relaxation in their total merit. Details around the following are tabulated below:

UG Scholarships

• Scholarship based on merit obtained in Class 10 and Class 12 – JKLU has merit-based scholarship schemes for students who show exemplary records in their Class 10 and Class 12 examinations. The table below shows the types of fee waivers available as per the merit obtained in qualifying exams:

For Class 10: English, Maths, Social Studies, Science and the fifth subject of applicant’s choice.

For Class 12 (for B.Tech.): Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English (total of four subjects).

For Class 12 Score (for BCA): English, Maths/Physics/ Economics/ Accountancy/Computer Science/Informatics Practices and two subjects of applicant’s choice (total of four subjects)

• Scholarship based on merit obtained in competitive exams
  • BTech – BTech aspirants who score good percentile in JEE Main exam are given hostel and tuition fee waivers of up to 100%. The table below highlights the type of fee waivers available for each group of score holders:

• BDes – UCEED rank holders from rank 1 to rank 200 who scored 75% - 80% in NID as well are given a 100% waiver in hostel and academic fees. Details regarding the same are as follows:

• Scholarship based on exceptional performance in extracurricular activities – The level of scholarship can upgrade by one level in case of exceptional achievements in any co-curricular activity by the student. Any such upgradation in scholarship level will require the approval of the Vice Chancellor, only upon recommendation of the Director of Admissions and Director of the Institute.
• Additionally, the university offers a 25% fee waiver for students who come from the following categories:
  • Wards of any staff member of JKLU or any entity belonging to JKO
  • Sibling of any student (both get fee reduction)
  • Sibling of any alumni
  • Any alumni doing a second degree

Note (from the university) - The scholarship decision will be based on rules applicable on the day the complete application is submitted, subject to admission being confirmed by paying the initial deposit. For example, if a student has 95% marks in Class 10 and Class 12 results will be available in June 2022. Assuming that the student got 96% marks in Class 12, the scholarship will be 100% (L1) if the application was submitted in March, but it will be 75% (L2) if the application was submitted in May.

• Continuation of scholarship - Scholarships awarded at the time of admission will continue till the final year of the programme only if the candidate displays the minimum level of performance required for the same. Details around the same are given in the table below:

PG Scholarships

• MTech – Applicants who qualify the GATE exam will be eligible for up to 100% tuition fee waivers on their academic fee. Similarly, applicants with exceptional achievements will be eligible for maximum 50% fee waiver on their academic fee.
• MDes – Students aspiring to pursue the MDes programme will be given scholarship amount of up to INR 1.5 lakh (for 2 years) upon portraying good scores in design entrance exams. Details regarding the same are as follows:
