Q:   Is B Tech at JNAFAU - Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture And Fine Arts University better than Shri Ram College of Engineering and Management?

    A:

As different colleges may have different strengths and weaknesses, and different students may have different preferences and goals. However, based on som search results, I can provide some information that may help you compare the two colleges.

    • JNAFAU is a state university established in 1940, while Shri Ram College is a private college established in 1999.
    • JNAFAU offers B Tech in three specializations: Planning, Digital Techniques for Design and Planning, and Facilities and Services Planning. Shri Ram College offers B Tech in eight specializations: Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Electronics, Industrial, Information Technology, and Mechanical.
    • JNAFAU admits students based on their rank in TS EAMCET exam, while Shri Ram College admits students based on their rank in MHT-CET or JEE Main exam.
    • JNAFAU has a total fee of 2,00,000 for four years of B Tech, while Shri Ram College has a total fee of 6,60,000 for four years of B Tech.

Q:   Which one is better for B Tech, JNAFAU or Mahatma Gandhi University College of Engineering and Technology?

    A:

Both universities have different areas of specialisation and offer different courses. Therefore, it is hard to say which one is better than the other. It depends on your personal interests, preferences, and career goals. However, if you want a general comparison based on some common factors, here are some points that you can consider:

    • JNAFAU offers B.Tech in three specializations: Planning, Digital Techniques for Design and Planning, and Facilities and Services Planning. MGUCET offers B.Tech in three disciplines: Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. You can choose the one that matches your interest and aptitude.
    • JNAFAU has a higher cut-off rank for admission through TS EAMCET than MGUCET, which indicates that it is more competitive and selective. MGUCET has a lower cut-off rank, which means that it is more accessible and inclusive . You can check the previous year cut-off ranks for both universities on their official websites or on [Shiksha.com].
    • JNAFAU has a higher fee structure than MGUCET for B.Tech courses. JNAFAU charges Rs. 50,000 per year for B.Tech, while MGUCET charges Rs. 15,000 per year for B.Tech. You can compare the fee structures of both universities on their official websites or on [Shiksha.com].
    • JNAFAU has a better placement record than MGUCET for B.Tech graduates. JNAFAU has an Industry Consultancy Cell, Quality Improvement Cell and Entrepreneurship Development Cell which helps students to get good jobs and placements. JNAFAU students get placed in reputed companies like L&T, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro, etc. MGUCET has a lower placement record, as it is a relatively new and emerging university. MGUCET students get placed in local companies or pursue higher studies.
    • JNAFAU has a better academic reputation than MGUCET for B.Tech courses. JNAFAU is accredited by NAAC and some of its courses are also accredited by NBA of AICTE. JNAFAU is ranked 10th for Architecture by India Today in 2022. JNAFAU has experienced and qualified faculty members who are experts in their fields. MGUCET is not accredited by NAAC or NBA, and it does not have any ranking by any national or international agency. MGUCET has less experienced and qualified faculty members who are still learning and developing.

I hope this comparison helps you to make an informed decision. However, I would suggest that you also visit the campuses of both universities, talk to the students and alumni, and see the facilities and infrastructure for yourself. Ultimately, the choice is yours and you should choose the one that suits you best.

    Dying path of Urban Planning.
Placements: Placements are practically zero, and students who do get jobs find them through their own internships and experience; without experience, finding jobs is extremely hard. Internships barely pay money, but after 5 to 7 years of experience in the planning field, pay is good.
Infrastructure: Very poor infrastructure, especially in my depth, had no proper projectors, and titles were broken in classrooms. If we wanted to use projectors, we had to check the lab, which had Pentium PCs that were very slow, and certain fans didn't work. My classroom had 4 sockets for 36 laptops, and when asked about increasing slots, my request was ignored.
Faculty: Faculty do help out students, and the focus is definitely on practical exposure, which gives good enough exposure to students. In terms of relevance, it's quite poor per se; the problem is that there isn't a specific method to do planning; it varies on perspective; certain subjects are very easy, but a few subjects are hard to understand.
Other: The present principal doesn't give much permission to events as such; that's a disadvantage.

Jnafau, "The Diverse": This title is amazing because of its amazing course structure.
Placements: There were no placements provided by the college. Students have to find their internships on their own for the final year. These internships pay around INR 5,000–INR 10,000 per month. For their final semester, every student is required to do an internship. They do not provide any links or companies to approach; one has to approach companies on their own or through senior batches, and they do not care about the time.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure was top-notch, especially the library and classroom labs. They do not provide any hostels for girls, but they do provide one for boys from 2 and up, which was very poorly maintained. Though the hostels were bad, the college environment and landscaping were good. It's peaceful, and they also have a sports room and a canteen, along with stationary inside the college for necessities.
Faculty: The curriculum and faculty were the best, as they taught the trending software to make students industry-ready. Most of the exams were jury or portfolio presentations, so it is easy to pass but quite difficult to score above 70. One needs to always do the assignments that are given, as the score depends on weekly tasks and exams.
Other: I mainly chose this course because of its diversity, which provides four different industries like architecture, IT, GI, and multimedia that are top-notch in the present world. They arrange fests three times a year that include many sports and games with exciting prizes.

JNAFAU- DTDP, practicality at its the finest.
Placements: Since a government college, the placements are good. Internships at various companies for design, architecture and GIS are offered as well. We get to work with the government projects offered to us through the faculty. Roles offered are game develops, town planning, architecture and designing.
Infrastructure: Our classrooms are spacious and well kept. The library is huge and we have two labs. Wi-Fi is accessible to all. The canteen is up and running and the prices are student friendly too. There is no on campus hostel, but many near by to choose from.
Faculty: The faculty is great, infact our HOD himself has graduated from this very university from this course. All the teachers are available all time for students queries. The course is very relevant since it offers CS Design, Multimedia, Planning and GIS. The semester exams are super relevant to what they teach in classes and pass percentage may vary between 90-95.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the faculty and placements in 2021.
Placements: 60% passed students were placed from our college. 35% students are doing Masters abroad and 5% have been detained or discontinued. The highest monthly package is 70k (starting), lowest is 15k (starting) and average is 35k per month. Top recruiters are TCS, Amazon, etc. 35% students got internships in design field and 30% in multimedia. Top roles are IT (ML), UI, UX, design, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classes and library are available. We students are satisfied with all the facilities. The quality of food and medical facilities is very poor in the hostel. Students face problems with the college hostel.
Faculty: The teachers are highly talented but they don't teach much. They do not teach as per our expectations. This course curriculum is excellent. It is a multi-disciplinary course and I can say that this course is too good in all over the Asia. The semester exams were too difficult. Pass percentage was 55% (in all subjects).
Other: I chose this course because this is multi-disciplinary course and I like to do creative and art work. So this DTDP is the right course for me. Actually, many people don't know about our course, to make them know, we have advertise our course. Before covid 19, all the events and fests were good but no activities are conducted now.

I am satisfied a lot. A very good college with very good placements every year.
Placements: At least 75% should be the score to get placement. There are many internships that which you can participate. City planner, media planner, Quantitative surveyor, and many more roles based on the talent or the knowledge you have regarding the subject. We even do have a library.
Infrastructure: It's one of the best universities in Telangana and the one and only Fine Arts University in Telangana. With good infrastructure facilities. Hostel food is good to eat and can have a very good eco-friendly environment. It also provides good medical facilities.
Faculty: No stress in studies. A very good course. You can study by enjoying your life. The pass percentage is 35% and every faculty helps you to reach out if you have any doubts. You can approach any faculty regarding the doubts. Every faculty is friendly many senior professors will help you to reach good scores in exams.
Other: I choose this course to explore and enjoy my life by studying something interesting. There are many events celebrated on the campus.

    Satisfied with the college.
Placements: You will get placed based on your performance in the course. Students of every course in our college are offered different packages. From facilities and services planning, you can get the roles of a facilities manager, construction manager, project manager, or other roles. The average package offered is 3-4 LPA.
Infrastructure: JNAFAU has individual labs for every course with air-conditioning facilities. The classrooms are very spacious. The library is very spacious and has many books. Every book is available in the library. Hostel facilities are available, but many don't use them. An indoor games room is also available.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The faculty will help you in any way they can and will be available anytime. The course curriculum is very well designed. The exams are not very difficult, but you need to study hard for good marks. The pass percentage is high.
