Q:   How is the overall infrastructure of Kalasalingam University?

    A:
    {Source: B.Tech students & alumni]

Kalasalingam University offers a relatively hectic academic schedule with over 15 lectures per week, and there are monthly college events with a moderately busy calendar. The university has multiple sports grounds and coaching facilities, and students have access to well-stocked libraries and practical discussions around case studies. However, student attendance is strictly monitored, and outsiders cannot enter the campus unchecked. Additionally, the university takes measures to ensure the safety and security of its students through guards and CCTV cameras, and there have been no reported security breaches in the past.

Based on the reviews provided, the overall infrastructure of Kalasalingam University's B.Tech programme in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) is mixed. While some reviewers noted that the university provided adequate facilities during their first year, others experienced a decline in the quality of amenities in subsequent years.

Some common facilities mentioned by the reviewers include Wi-Fi, classrooms, labs, libraries, hostels and medical facilities. However, the availability and quality of these facilities varied across different years and aspects of the campus. For example, some classrooms had air conditioners and projectors, while others did not. Similarly, the availability of Wi-Fi and the quality of the library differed between the first year and later years.

The reviewers also highlighted the quality of the hostel accommodations, which ranged from good to average. Some reviewers praised the cleanliness and study desks in the hostel rooms, while others found the food served in the mess to be subpar. Medical facilities were generally available, although one reviewer noted that the free check-ups at the college hospital were a valuable benefit.

In summary, while there may be some inconsistencies in the quality of infrastructure across different years and aspects of the campus, Kalasalingam University's B.Tech programme in Computer Science and Engineering appears to offer a range of facilities that cater to the needs of its students.

The college and hostel are very good.
Placements: More than 80% of people getting placed here. And companies are also very good and branded. Most of the companies offer more packages like 8 LPA and 10 LPA. I strongly suggest this college for future generations.
Infrastructure: The college hostel considering the fee is average. Food is not that good and not that bad either. But the rooms are good and per room, they will allow a maximum of 5 members and the minimum depends upon the money you pay.
Faculty: Extracurricular activities play a vital role in everyone's life not only studies. In this college, there is more chance to participate in extracurricular activities. If you are interested in anything then you can participate in it and there is a lot of encouragement from faculty.
Other: Nowadays AIML plays a vital role in the day to day life. So I chose this particular stream.

    Absolutely satisfied with the college.
Placements: In our course, 40 to 50 percent of students were placed. The highest package was 50 LPA and the lowest was 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies for our course were Amazon, Infosys, Wipro, and Tech Mahindra. Approximately 70 to 80 percent of students got internships in our course.
Infrastructure: The facilities in our department are good, with a good library, well-equipped labs, and spacious classrooms. The Wi-Fi speed is good most of the time, but occasionally it doesn't work. The quality of the facilities in our hostel is good, and the food is good as well, both in the mess and the canteen. However, I would like to see them improve the quality of the food. The medical facilities and sports and games facilities are good.
Faculty: The faculty members in our course are well qualified, knowledgeable, and have good teaching skills. They try their best to understand the students. The course curriculum is good and relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams are quite difficult, and the pass percentage is 60%.
Other: I chose this course because I believe it has a good future. The best things about our course are that we can gain good knowledge and better skills. I wish the college would provide more opportunities to learn new skills and knowledge. I also think the number of events and fests should be increased. There are so many students in our college that it can be very crowded, but the campus is beautiful and the surrounding area is great. The college offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including yoga, which I find very useful.

It is a college which has an NIRF rank of 39 without any proper reason.
Placements: I'm confused about getting placements right now. The college is bringing some companies to campus, but only 20 people are recruited till now out of 3000 students. The competition is so high as of now, so that's the reason I'm saying that getting placements is a little bit difficult.
Infrastructure: The facilities are not that good. Only freshman engineering will get a good block for a year. The labs are good, and the library is the only thing that is good on this campus. The lab equipment in the labs is not sufficient. The food in the hostel is also bad.
Faculty: In my branch, only some courses are good, and only some faculty is good. From 3 years, I didn't get any arrears or backlogs, but recently I got a backlog unnecessarily. Asking the faculty, they are saying to write it in the next semester, saying I have not submitted documents even if I submitted. They are not responding to anything.
Other: The crowd is huge, and there is no proper management of the course.

    Average college.
Placements: Company excitement was low, and the average package offered was 4.5 lakhs per annum. Recruiters included TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, and some other top companies. 20% of students got internships, with Nanochip among the companies offering them.
Infrastructure: The labs are good, but some systems are not working. Our college has a shortage of systems due to the large student population. Year by year, the classrooms and labs become more crowded. The food is quite different from what I'm used to. Being from Andhra Pradesh, I find the food here much less spicy.
Faculty: The teachers are good, but they mainly focus on the software aspects of the course, not the hardware experiments. Students do more software experiments and fewer hardware experiments due to a lack of required electrical components in our college.

Huge strength and crowd make the situation tough.
Placements: Our college invites many companies to provide placements for the students. Companies are not interested in recruiting large numbers of students. There is a competition because of the high number of CSE students. Core companies do not visit our college. The salary package offered is very low, ranging from 2.5 to 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college hostel is not good. When we first joined as freshers, there were four students per room, but now there are five to six. Fees have been increased. Hostel food is worst. Although many items are provided, there won't be salt or spice in food items. Wi-Fi provided is good, with an account of up to 5 GB.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are good. As there is an increase in student strength each year, it is challenging for them to manage the pressure. Teachers are good at their core subjects. A few teachers are well-qualified but not experienced. Curriculum gets changed. Subjects we wanted to study in the beginning were planned for the future. There are fewer practicals and real-time examples provided are also less. Only computer science subject is good but others are not because of lack of tools. Semester exams in some subjects are tough and we may get lower marks. Some subjects are easy to pass. Question papers seem difficult year by year.
Other: I chose this course initially based on the recommendations of my coach and brother. The best part is to learn the core subjects with some practical knowledge. A few experienced teachers helped us in understanding the subject. I suggest providing real-world projects and hardware tools to improve the course. Events in our college are good. Management always helps us to conduct the events. Our college has many clubs, and events are usually conducted on Saturdays.

Review of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education.
Placements: Around 50 percent of people get placed in my subject course. The highest package was 17 LPA and the lowest was 2 LPA, with an average of 3-4 LPA. Accenture and PwC are top recruiting companies. Around 20 percent of people got internships in MCW company and Kaar Technologies in roles of software engineers and developers.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure was good, and nature and atmosphere play a crucial role in this college. Academic facilities, labs, library, Wi-Fi, all are good. Hostel facilities were good, but when it comes to hostel mess, the food tastes worse sometimes, and students who are willing to join in the following years can make a note of it.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, highly qualified, knowledgeable, and friendly in nature. The quality of teaching is updated to today's practical knowledge. The curriculum was good and partially prepares students for the industry. The semester exams were not that tough; you can easily pass.
Other: I have chosen AIML because it is the current trend of the universe. More practical knowledge can be improved. Events and fests are conducted every week in a hill environment.

    * Well-Designed Infrastructure: The university has well-designed infrastructure, including libraries, laboratories, and hostels.
    * Nice Campus Environment: The campus is situated amidst hills and greenery, creating a peaceful and calm environment.

    Negative Points:

    * Placement Challenges: With increased intake, placements became more competitive, leading to concerns about placement ratios.
    * Variable Faculty Quality: While some faculty members were praised for their teaching, others received criticism for lacking subject expertise or enthusiasm.
    * Hostel Issues: Some students complained about poor food quality, inconsistent water supply, and uncomfortable living conditions.
