Q:   Is B.Sc. at UOK a good choice?

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of what they have to say:

* Infrastructure: The university has good infrastructure, with modern laboratories, digital classrooms, and a well-maintained library.
* Faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified, experienced, and supportive. They provide extra classes and one-on-one mentorship to students who need it.
* Course Curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant and prepares students for industries. The curriculum covers topics such as Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry, making it suitable for those interested in pursuing a career in biology.
* Examinations: Semester exams are relatively easy, and the pass percentage is around 50%.
* Placements: While the university doesn't have a placement policy, around 50% of students from the batch got placed, with the highest package being 8 LPA. Many students also secured internships with reputed companies.
* Campus Life: The campus is large and spread over a wide area, providing a peaceful learning environment. The hostel facility is also good, with affordable accommodation options.
* Scholarships: The university offers various scholarships to students, including merit-based and caste-based scholarships.
* Extra-Curricular Activities: The university encourages participation in extracurricular activities such as NSS, NCC, sports, and cultural events.

However, some limitations mentioned by students include:

* Lack of Placement Policy: As a government university, UOK doesn't have a dedicated placement cell, which may affect student employability.
* Limited Company Visits: Although some companies visit the campus, the frequency is limited, and students may need to rely on self-initiated efforts to secure placements.
* Some Facilities Need Improvement: While the infrastructure is generally good, some students mention that certain facilities, such as washrooms and the grounds, require improvement.

Overall, while UOK has its strengths and weaknesses, it appears that the B.Sc. programme can be a good choice for students who are looking for a well-rounded education and are willing to put in effort to secure placements. However, prospective students should carefully consider these factors before making a decision.
