The inaugural ceremony of Deeksharambh

October 17, 2024: The induction programme for B.Tech. students of the batch 2024-25 was held in the Ramaiah Technology Campus, Peenya on 17th September 2024. Close to 1500 people, including the new batch of students and parents attended the event. Ms. Sahana P Shankar, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering was the Master of Ceremony for the event.

The event commenced with an invocation song by Mr. Shishir K P, a second year student from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Prof. Govind R Kadambi, Pro Vice Chancellor at RUAS and Dean of Ramaiah Technology Campus, delivered the welcome address and congratulated the students for choosing Engineering as their professional degree. Dr. Om Prakash Kharbanda, Pro Vice Chancellor, Health Sciences at RUAS, greeted the students and and talked about the importance of upskilling and lifelong learning.

Mr. Dhirendra Nath, Chief People Officer, SLK group, graced the event as the Chief Guest. During his address to the students, he emphasized on the need for the students to develop interpersonal skills and focus on their overall personality development for establishing a sustainable and successful career in the industry. Prof. Kuldeep Kumar Raina, Vice Chancellor, RUAS, during his presidential address, stressed upon adapting to multidisciplinary approach and urged the students to utilize the enormous opportunities MSRUAS offers in their career. October 17, 2024: Faculty of Pharmacy, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS), hosted the Inaugural Ceremony of ‘FPH-Deeksharambh1-2024’ for the B. Pharm and Pharm D batches of 2024-25 on 17th September 2024. Coordinated by Dr. Parasuraman P and Mr. Damodar Nayak A, the event marked the beginning of an exciting academic journey for new students. Dr. S. Bharath, Dean of the Faculty, welcomed the students, highlighting the faculty’s achievements in education and research.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Kuldeep Kumar Raina emphasized RUAS's multidisciplinary approach and its commitment to holistic education, fostering leadership and entrepreneurship. Chief Guest Dr. Bhaskaran J, Deputy Drugs Controller, Government of Karnataka, discussed India's leading role in pharmaceuticals and the wide career opportunities for pharmacy graduates, particularly in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, generic medicines and vaccine production. October 17, 2024: Professor O. P. Kharbanda was honoured with the Dr. K. K. Mistry Scroll of Honour by the Indian Orthodontic Society at the Inaugural function of the 58th Indian Orthodontic Conference in Bangalore. The award acknowledges Dr. Kharbanda’s contributions to advancing higher education, clinical excellence, impactful research, and his various executive roles within the IOS. Notably, he served as the President in 2009, demonstrating his leadership and influence within the society.

This prestigious award is named after Dr. K. K. Mistry, one of the five founding members of the Indian Orthodontic Society, former head of Orthodontics at Government Dental College Mumbai, and a distinguished practitioner.

FET Students Secure 1st Place at the National MathWorks Minidrone Competition India 2024

October 17, 2024: CodeXAerials, the official team from MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore, clinched 1st place at the prestigious MathWorks Minidrone Competition India 2024. The event, hosted by the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, saw participation from over 1,500 teams across India.

Participants were tasked with developing a path-following algorithm for a mini-drone. The competition was divided into two challenging rounds: the simulation round and the hardware round. Among more than 1,500 registrations from premier institutes and drone enthusiasts nationwide, CodeXAerials was one of the top 10 teams to qualify for the final hardware round after excelling in the simulation round. In the final round, CodeXAerials' mini-drone successfully followed the designated path and achieved a smooth, steady landing.

Double Triumph: FAD's Achyuth K. Seizes Top Ranks in NID and CEED Exams!

NSS RUAS Wins National Youth Festival's Second Prize

March 15, 2024:The State NSS Cell, in collaboration with Mysore University, arranged the NSS National Youth Festival, which saw participation from NSS RUAS student volunteers at NSS Bhavan, Sahukar Chennaiah Road, Saraswathi Puram, Mysuru.

Students participated in a five-day camp from February 20–24, 2024, where they were exposed to a wide range of professional, skill-development, leadership, and personality-related activities. The students that won second place in the festival's cultural competition represented NSS RUAS at the National Integration Camp.

Ramaiah Medical College marks its 40th graduation day

March 15, 2024:Ramaiah Medical College, one of the oldest private medical schools in the state of Karnataka, celebrated its 40th graduation day. Dignitaries turned out in force for the graduation ceremony, which was held in the elegantly furnished auditorium.
Dr. Niharika Arora, who is the academic year's top scorer, was presented with the Chan Pek lui award during the graduation ceremony. At this occasion, 378 medical students received their diplomas. Dato' Dr. Chan Pek lui, (DIMP) MBBS, MRCP (Edin), a fellow of Ramaiah Medical College, was the chief guest of the ceremony. Dr. Chan Pek lui is a certified medical impairment assessor from the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), an internal medicine specialist, and a consultant physician at the Chan Medical Specialist Clinic in Pahang, Malaysia.

Faculty of Management and Commerce Ranked 74th Out of 100 Best B-Schools

March 15, 2024:In the Times B-School Ranking Survey — 2024, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences' Faculty of Management and Commerce (FMC) has achieved noteworthy distinction, ranking as the "74 among Top 100 B-Schools."

Along with this great accomplishment, the university has also performed exceptionally well in other areas, earning the 29th spot in the top 40 Private Universities category and the 17th spot in the top 20 South B-Schools category.

Ramaiah Advanced Learning Center in collaboration with TPM DTI Launches Tissue Banking Course in India

March 13, 2024:M S Ramaiah University announces the inauguration of the first-ever Tissue Banking Course in India, a breakthrough project by Ramaiah Advanced Learning Centre in cooperation with TPM DTI, Barcelona, intended at revolutionising healthcare teaching and practice across the country. Tissue banking plays a pivotal role in modern medicine. Despite its undeniable importance, access to training and education is limited. Recognizing this gap we have developed a pioneering Tissue Banking Course to equip healthcare professionals, researchers, and students with knowledge, skills, and expertise to establish and operate Tissue Bank effectively. The training program will be awarded a TPM diploma equivalent to 12 ECTS of the International Master in Donation and Transplantation of Organs, Tissues, and Cells (University of Barcelona – UB). CNSS Signs MoUs with Institutions, Conducts Drone Training for Army Officers

February 27, 2024: The Centre for Naval and Air Warfare Studies (CNSS) has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with three institutions: the United Service Institution of India, the Pathfinder Foundation, and the Taiwan Centre for Security Studies. These MoUs will help CNSS collaborate on research and training initiatives. CNSS also conducted drone training for officers at the Indian Army Service Corps Centre & College.

Drs. Rajanikanth B.R. and Kavitha Prasad from the Faculty of Dental Sciences have been awarded a patent (No. 468456) for their invention titled "Three-Dimensional Hybrid Bioresorbable Scaffold for Bone Tissue Engineering Applications." This innovative scaffold represents a significant advancement in the field of bone regeneration and has the potential to revolutionize dental and medical treatments.

Researchers Dr. P. Chandramohan and Dr. M. Monica from M. S. Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies have received a patent (No. 469545) for their invention, "Method and System for 8T Cell SRAM Memory Using FinFET." This novel design promises significant improvements in memory density and power efficiency for future electronic devices.

October 31, 2023: On September 11, 2023, at the Advanced Learning Centre, University House, the second installation of Rotaract Club of RUAS - Lakshyaa 2.0, with the theme "Advayam," took place. It was a historic event that signalled the start of a new age of service, leadership, and camaraderie.

The Rotary Bengaluru Manyata President Deepthi Dev Adiga, Kiran SHS's District Rotaract Representative, Dr. S. Bharath, the Dean, FPH, Desai, the Dean, FET, Priya Arjun, Assistant Director, and Sri Kishen, Head of the Directorate of Student Affairs, along with Faculty Members and Parents of Rotaract Office Bearers, graced the installation ceremony. Their presence gave the occasion more authority and insight. 

The event highlighted the club's achievements from the previous year, including its successful fundraising campaigns and noteworthy community engagement initiatives. The club extended a warm welcome to new members, signifying the organization's expansion and progress. After that, the guests gave their thoughts and words of wisdom, highlighting Rotaract's role in developing leadership and community service. Other club representatives wished the group luck and made announcements about joint ventures and upcoming projects.

Exclusive Management Development Programme for SME Owners at RUAS

October 31, 2023: With the focus on scaling up businesses, the Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences Faculty of Management and Commerce, in collaboration with RightEdge Learning Pvt. Ltd., organised a three-month Management Development Programme (MDP) specifically for small and medium-sized business owners. The suggested MDP is a novel idea that combines expert sessions with industry mentors' hands-on problem-solving.

In light of this, on August 26, 2023, the college will host a Valedictory Function and Event Closing Ceremony.

Among the notable attendees were Sri Arif H.M., President of the Peenya Industrial Association; V Raja, MD of Taiki Consulting; MH Bala Subrahmanya, Department of Management Studies, IISc; and Vidya Shankar, IAS (Rtd.), Former Additional Secretary of the Government of Karnataka.

The Valedictory Function was presided over by our Vice Chancellor, K K Raina. 

In conclusion, the community and SME stakeholders respond well. This is the first time that the Faculty of Management and Commerce has had an event like this.

RUAS offers, first of its kind program “Post Graduate Diploma in Facility management"

April 20, 2023: The first-of-its-kind "Post Graduate Diploma in Facility Management" (PGDFM) programme is being offered by Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore, in collaboration with its industry partner, Schevaran Cleanfix Academy (P) LTD. Facility management is a corporate function that integrates people, location, and processes within the physical environment with the aim of enhancing both individual well-being and core company efficiency.

The facility management sector currently makes up 3.2% of the GDP. According to the market research companies, during the projected period of 2023–2028, the India facility management market is expected to expand at a CAGR of 14.84% and reach USD97.29 billion. Airports, healthcare, hospitality, shopping centres, large and medium-sized industries, multinational corporate organisations, and real estate developments are among the included sectors. JLL Property Consultants India, CBRE India, Quess Corp, Sodexo India, ISS facility services, Knight Frank India, and Cushman & Wakefield India are a few of the facility management firms that provide services in India.
 
The average annual compensation for a facility manager at entry level in India is Rs 6.5 Lakhs. Challenges for FM organisations include the need for skilled labour, technology integration in FM services, sustainable practises, and employee wellness. The 11-month PGDFM programme is delivered in a trimester system. Through hands-on learning, case studies by professionals in the facility management industry, and a project in the final trimester, students will master the fundamental skills required in facility management, including engineering, science, and business management. Graduates in the fields of engineering, business management, science, and hotel management may apply for this postgraduate programme.
In collaboration with business associates Schevaran Labs Mysore, Cleanfix Switzerland, and Filmop Italy, the programme is made available. Senior Professors from RUAS and FM companies make up the faculty. The Schevaran Cleanfix Foundation will choose scholarship candidates with a strong academic record and leadership potential. The Swiss professional organisation Schweizerischer Fachverband Betriebsunterhalt (SFB) is based in Zurich, Switzerland. Selected students can take a specifically developed three-week course in facilities management and receive a certificate from the Swiss government.

March 20, 2023: Students from Ramaiah University of Applied Science's Faculty of Pharmacy participated in the Service to Society initiative on the occasion of the 74th republic day, which commemorates the adoption of India's constitution and the country's transition. Various activities were executed by the team such as the Measurement of vital signs and education about general health and lifestyle changes at a health camp, Plog Run - To prevent the harm that plastic trash is causing to our ecosystem while keeping our surroundings and community Clear of plastic waste, Participation in the Republic Day celebration at a public school in the Mathikere slum and distribution of stationary and interactive, eye-catching charts made by FPH students about the human body, medications, healthy eating habits, healthy hands, etc. On the important occasion of the 74th Republic Day, the team also served a single supper to school children and Distribution of sanitary napkins to women in need and education about menstrual and feminine hygiene. 

RUAS Students Participate in All India Karate Championship Senior & U21

ATHISH SAGAR RAJ, a first-year BPT student at Ramaiah Medical College's Faculty of Physiotherapy, won first place and the gold medal at the All India Karate Championship Senior & U21, which was held in Dehradun from February 17–19, 2023. RUAS Debate Club Conducts Debate Event Sentience”

March 20, 2023: Sentience, a very well-attended debate event, was successfully held by the RUAS Debate Club on Friday, February 23. The Department of Transferable Skills and Leadership Development organised the event (DTSLD). Sentience is a traditional format for argument between teams of two people each. 25 teams from all the university's faculties and schools, including The College of Arts and Science, registered for the competition. Prof. M. Sai Baba, Dr Vidhya Baliga, Dr Rohini Keshava, Dr Aruna L, Aileen J, Vijaylaxmi T, Pratima Mohan, Archana Madhukar, Roopa Patil, and Sunita Chakraborty are on the list of judges for the competition. RUAS Extends Partnership with International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC)

July 22, 2022: By signing a Memorandum of Understanding, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences expanded its collaboration with International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC) to offer ACCA and US CMA credentials. ISDC is a global provider of skill development and education with its headquarters in the UK.

The Association of Charted Certified Accountants, based in the UK, offers ACCA accounting and financial accreditation, which is the industry standard worldwide. The 13 exams that make up the ACCA Professional Qualification will give students the knowledge and competence they need to recognise, analyse, and address issues that are specific to the international business community. Additionally, through intense training sessions and webinars, the relationship will assist the students in gaining access to an in-depth grasp of industry-oriented financial and analytical tools, strategies, and management at an international level.

In addition, the University will be able to offer US CMA (Certified Management Accountants), an IMA curriculum, to its BBA students at the Faculty of Management and Commerce thanks to ISDC's relationship with US-Certified Management Accountants (CMA). Planning, budgeting, company reporting, decision analysis, and risk management are just a few of the crucial financial management tasks that the students will become proficient in on a global scale. The curriculum will also assist students in gaining advanced knowledge of modern tools, techniques, and strategies that will enable them to locate, assess, and resolve industry-specific problems.

The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) grants the professional certification known as the CMA by IMA, which is highly regarded in the fields of management accounting and financial management. The qualification denotes that the holder has expertise in financial analysis, planning, control, decision-making, and professional ethics. The CMA is a worldwide renowned certification with a U.S. base.

DEEKSHARAMBH 2022

July 21, 2022: The M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (MSRUAS) has begun its orientation and induction programme for the undergraduate class of 2022, which will last through July 29. By using a blended learning approach, it will be possible for students who haven't yet travelled to Bengaluru to participate from their homes. The Auditorium on the second floor of the Faculty of Life & Allied Health Sciences block will serve as the program's location. Students become accustomed with the university's procedures and systems during this two-week period, which also includes some motivational speeches and classes on life skills. Every day from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the programme is broadcast.

RUAS Signs MoU with ICTA to Develop and Build the Nano Student Satellite "Ramaiah Sat"

July 20, 2022: A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Tuesday by Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences and Indian Technology Congress Association (ITCA) for the development and construction of the Nano Satellite that will be launched in August 2022 in conjunction with the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" to commemorate 75 years of Indian independence.

The 75-student satellite mission will be created with the assistance of ITCA, the nodal agency, and under the supervision of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

Prof. Kuldeep K. Raina, vice chancellor of RUAS, and L. V. Muralikrishna Reddy, president of ITCA, signed the agreement in the presence of others, including chief executive M. R. Sreenivasa Murthy and chancellor Dr M. R. Jayaram.

World Environment Day Celebration by RUAS NSS Units

June 05, 2022: Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences commemorated World Environment Day. As part of their Green Sunday programme, the University's NSS Cell opted to plant seedlings in collaboration with Adamya Chetana Foundation. Bangalore University Campus was chosen as the location for the seedling planting. Dr Tejawini Anantkumar, the Foundation's Managing Trustee, addressed the children and asked them to devote a few Sundays each year to the great cause of planting saplings that they had started. A total of 100 samples were planted. It was also to honour Karmayogi Dr Ramaiah, the Hon'ble Founder of RUAS, on his 100th birthday. It was a rewarding day spent giving back to nature and helping to make the planet a better and greener place for everyone.

RUAS Signs Agreement with Schevaran Cleanfix Academy

May 19, 2022: On May 18, RUAS inked an MOU with Schevaran Cleanfix Academy to offer a Post Graduate Diploma in Facility Management.

Following the pandemic, cleanliness has been the buzzword. Facility management is a crucial growth sector. Facility management is critical for efficiently maintaining infrastructure and increasing production.

The "Post Graduate Diploma in Facility Management" is being offered by FHMCT, RUAS, in collaboration with Schevaran Cleanfix Academy. Schevaran, a global leader in cleaning chemical consumables and automated gear, has partnered with Cleanfix of Switzerland to provide industrial exposure and internships to this programme.

Graduates from the hospitality industry or engineering backgrounds are eligible for this eleven-month programme. Students who complete the programme successfully may find work at airports, malls, and huge corporate offices in India and overseas.

Chancellor, RUAS Receives Honourary Doctorate from University of Illinois, Chicago, USA

May 14, 2022: On May 6th, 2022, RUAS Chancellor Dr MR Jayaram earned an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Illinois in Chicago, USA. Dr Timothy Killeen, President of the University of Illinois System, honoured Dr MR Jayaram with the degree of "Doctor of Humane Letters" in a spectacular ceremony at the University Stadium in recognition of his exceptional contribution to promoting higher education and health care services.

Dr MR Jayaram was the only Honourary Doctorate winner at the University of Illinois College of Medicine's 140th Commencement Ceremony, which saw 317 graduates receive degrees. His family, leaders, and academicians from all around the world were present for the ceremony.

Ramaiah University Receives QS I?Gauge Overall Gold University Rating

May 14, 2022: At a recent awards ceremony conducted in New Delhi on May 12th, 2022, Ramaiah University of University received the QS IGauge Overall GOLD University rating. Smriti Zubin Irani, Minister of Women and Child Development, presented the award to Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. K. K. Raina. This rating is valid until May 4, 2024, according to the Government of India.

The QS IGAUGE rating system assesses an institution's individual performance in a variety of major and secondary categories. The primary criteria are those that are expected to be important to the operation of every higher education institution in India. Secondary criteria are a set of factors that allow institutions to choose which indicators to include in the audit, with the exception of research, which is required for universities.

The rating outcomes are based on an institution's overall performance in comparison to all other higher education bodies in the country, from all angles.

May 09, 2022: The IEOM student chapter at RUAS was inaugurated by the Faculty of Management and Commerce today at an august function attended by Prof Ahad Ali, Executive Director of IEOM Society International, Lawrence Technological University, Michigan, USA, Prof Donald M Reimer Director of Membership and Chapter Development of IEOM Society International, Lawrence Technological University, Michigan, USA, Prof. Qutubuddin S.M., Director of IEOM India Operations, Prof . K. K. Raina, Vice Chancellor, RUAS, Prof. M. Sai Baba, Registrar, RUAS, Prof. Anindya Sen, Pro Vice Chancellor – Social Sciences, RUAS, Deans of Engineering, students and faculty members of FMC. Prof. Reimer led the chapter members in taking the oath of allegiance, with Mr. Tariq Imam, the chapter's president, committing to uphold the IEOM's goal and strive to promote the progress of industrial engineering and operations management discipline for the welfare of humanity.

Placements: About 75% of students are placed in my college. Fees for 1 year are Rs. 1.79 lakh. Companies like Crown Plaza, Marriott, Hilton, Taj, Oberoi, The Park Hotel, Four Seasons, and more recruit from our college. Roles offered include housekeeping, front office, food and beverage production, and food and beverage service.

Placements: lot of companies recruit from our college every year, including MNCs. average package is around 6 LPA in our course. Students have to score above 7 CGPA to get good placement. The top recruiters are Interglobe, Airbus, etc. Internships are not provided by college so students have to find it by their own.

Overall best University for MBA Course.

Placements: The placement rate of our college is almost 95%. The highest salary offered in our batch was 40 lacs per annum, and the starting salary offered was 10 lacs per annum. The average salary is 19 lacs per annum. Only sales jobs are offered since it is a B-school. All other information, like market research, is provided to IIMs. The college also offers vocational training at an average cost of Rs. 10,000 per month.

Overall, a great college for pursuing MBBS with great faculty and good infrastructure.

Placements: Placements are not a thing in medical colleges, as hospitals do not come to colleges for hiring. People after completing MBBS either prepare for the PG exam and ho for the PG course or they can apply for any government or private jobs. So placements are not done here.
