MET 2025 application form is now available. Candidates can access the MET 2025 application form online at manipal.edu. To participate in the MET 2025 admission process, the candidates have to fill out and submit the application form before the final date i.e., March 15, 2025. No registrations will be accepted after the MET 2025 application form last date. Before MET 2025 registration, the candidates are advised to check the official eligibility criteria. MET 2025 admit card will be released online after the candidates complete the slot booking process. The authorities will conduct MET 2025 as a computer-based test in two phases. Candidates will be eligible for both phases of the exam and the best MET 2025 score will be considered for admission. MET 2025 result will be declared online. Q:   What is the level of MET?

A:

Since MET is one of the popularly picked private engineering entrance exams, the difficulty level of MET is quite high. However, the candidates who have qualified 12th standard examination will be able to attempt the examination if they study a bit more from the official syllabus. The syllabus will be similar to the 12th standard syllabus. The candidates will be assessed on their knowledge in various topics in Physics Chemistry Mathematics and English.

What is MET?

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) conducts Manipal Entrance Test (MET) annually to select candidates for admission into their participating campuses. Based on their scores in MET, the candidates will be able to apply for the BTech courses offered by Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, Manipal University, Jaipur, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology and Manipal Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. MET is held as a computer-based test at various centres and the candidates will be required to attempt objective multiple-choice questions.

Q:   What is a good score for MET?

A:

Candidates are advised to secure minimum 190 marks or above out of the total 240 marks. This will allow the candidates to have a higher chance of securing admissions into their preferred course and campus. Along with the obtained ranks, other factors will also be considered while preparing the MET admission cutoff. The candidate's category will also be a determining factor for admissions. The candidates are advised to aim for a high score so that they will not face any problems during the admission process.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for MET?

A:

Candidates are advised to check the official MET eligibility criteria before registration. If the candidates are not able to meet the eligibility criteria, then they will be disqualified from the MET admission process. As per the official criteria, the candidates should have passed 12th standard or equivalent qualifying examination from a recognised board with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/any technical vocational subject as an optional subject. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks should have been secured by the candidates. There is no age limit.

Q:   Will MET be held online?

A:

The authorities will conduct MET online i.e., as a computer-based test. The candidates will have to attempt the examination in 2 hours. While attempting the examination, the candidates will have to attempt multiple-choice questions and numerical answer type questions. The total number of questions to be attempted in the examination is 60.

Q:   Can I apply for MET counselling with other examination scores?

A:

No. The authorities will not accept any other examination scores for MET counselling. All candidates will be assessed based on their scores secured in MET. To participate in the MET counselling and be eligible for admissions into the offered courses by the campuses, the candidates will have to attempt and qualify the entrance examination. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's rank along with other factors such as order of preferences, category and seat availability.

Q:   I have attempted both sessions of MET. Which score will be used for admissions?

A:

Candidates will be eligible to apply for one or both sessions of MET 2025. If the candidates attempt both sessions of MET then the authorities will consider the best of the two scores for admissions into the B.Tech courses offered by the participating campuses. The candidates will be required to qualify at least one session to be eligible for admissions. Candidates are advised to attempt both sessions so that they have higher chances of securing the required scores to be allotted into their preferred course and campus.

Q:   How can I select my preferred MET exam centres?

A:

Candidates will be able to select their preferred MET exam cities while filling out the application form. The cities for the entrance examination have to be selected in the order of preference and submitted. During the slot booking, the candidates will be able to select their choice of exam centres from the city that they have preferred. The slots available in the centre have to be chosen and submitted before the final date. The details regarding the allotted MET exam centre, date and time will be available on the admit card.

MET 2025 Application Form

MET 2025 application form is now available online. Eligible candidates can now register for MET 2025 to participate in the entrance examination and admission process. During the MET 2025 application process, the candidates will have to register, fill out their personal, academic and contact details, upload a photograph and signature and pay the fee. The candidates will be able to pay the MET 2025 application fee online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. Without the fee payment, the applications cannot be submitted. No other mode of fee payment will be accepted. Since no correction facility will be provided, the candidates are advised to be careful while filling out their basic information.

MET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates will have to fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria if they want to participate in the MET 2025 admission process.

BTech Courses - Candidates should have qualified 10+2, A-Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subjects as optional subjects with a minimum of 50% mark taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects.

Lateral BTech - 3 years Diploma in Engineering granted by the Board of Technical Examination of a State Government or passed BSc Degree from a recognized University with at least 45% marks and passed Xll standard with Mathematics as a subject.

Q:   What is the MET application fee?

A:

MET application fee has to be paid online by the candidates to successfully be registered for the entrance examination. For candidates belonging to the General Category, the application fee of MET is INR 600. All candidates will have to pay the MET application fee online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. No other mode of payment will be accepted by the authorities.

Q:   How many MET exam cities can I choose during the application process?

During the application process, the candidates will be able to choose three options from the list of the available MET exam cities. It is to be noted that the selection of exam cities will have to be done carefully since the allotment of exam centres will depend on it. Q:   What are the sections in the MET exam pattern?

As per the MET exam pattern, the question paper will be divided into sections. The four sections of MET question paper are - Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English. The questions of all sections have to be attempted for the candidates to have a higher chance of securing the scores that they need for admissions. The total duration to attempt all sections of MET is 2 hours and no extra time will be provided. Candidates will be allowed to skip sections and later come back to the question to attempt it. However, it should be done within the allotted duration of the exam.

Q:   What is the division of questions in the MET paper?

A:

The total number of questions to be answered in the MET paper is 60. Candidates will have to attempt two types of questions in the paper - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions. In the Mathematics section, the candidates will have to answer 15 MCQ and 5 NAT questions. For the Physics and Chemistry section, there are 10 MCQs and 5 NAT questions. Finally, for the English section, there were a total of 10 MCQs.

No, The candidates will not be able to attempt MET in Hindi. The candidates will not have the option to choose their language for the examination. MET English section syllabus will be similar to the General English section of the 12th standard qualifying examination. The prescribed syllabus will cover all of the topics that has to be studied to assess the ability to grasp the fundamental concepts of English language, grammar and usage. MET 2025 Result

MET 2025 result will be announced online at manipal.edu. Candidates will be able to access the scores and ranks obtained in the entrance examination through the MET result 2025. The authorities will also send the candidates their obtained MET 2025 ranks and scores through SMS. No requests for review of the obtained scores and ranks will be accepted. Based on the performance of the candidates in the entrance examination, the allotment of seats will be done by the authorities.

MET 2025 Counselling

MET 2025 counselling process will be held online. Qualified candidates will have to log in using their application number and password to register for the MET counselling 2025 process. After updating their profile, the candidates will have to pay the MET 2025 counselling fee of INR 10,000 online i.e.,  through net banking/credit card/debit card (adjustable with the tuition fee). The list of courses and campuses in the order of preference has to be submitted. MET 2025 seat allotment will be announced online. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability. The selected candidates will have to confirm their admission before the final date, otherwise their allotment will be cancelled.

Q:   What is the MET counselling fee?

A:

All candidates will be required to pay a fee of INR 10,000 during the MET counselling process. The MET counselling fee has to be paid online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. No other mode of payment will be accepted. If the candidates are not able to pay the counselling fee before the final date, then they will not be allowed to participate in the allotment and admission process. The allotted candidates will be able to adjust their counselling fee with their tuition fee.

Q:   What is the MET admission fee?

A:

After the MET seat allotment, the selected candidates will have to confirm their admission. All of the allotted candidates will have to report to their respective institute and verify their documents for admission confirmation. Along with the document verification, the candidates will have to pay the first year tuition fee in two instalments. The first instalment is INR 2,40,000 and the second instalment will be as per the course selected. The required fee has to be paid online before the final date. If the candidates are not able to pay the admission fee before the final date, then their allotment will be cancelled.

The authorities have not yet announced the MET 2025 class commencement date for the qualified candidates. Q:   What are the specifications for the documents to be uploaded in the MET application form?

A:

Candidates will be required to upload their scanned passport-size photograph and signature while filling out the MET application form. Both the documents should be uploaded as per the specifications mentioned by the official authorities. The passport-size photograph should be recent and in the dimensions of 4.5cm x 3.5cm, whereas the signature should be done in a white paper. The maximum file size of both the documents is 300KB and the format is JPEG. If the documents are not as per the specifications, then it will not be accepted.

Q:   What is the duration of MET?

A:

As per the official MET exam pattern, the authorities will conduct the examination for 2 hours. Candidates will have to attempt 60 multiple-choice questions and numerical answer type questions during the duration of the examination. During the examination, the candidates will be allowed to skip sections and come back to attempt the missed questions within the time limit. No extra time will be provided. Since the time limit may seem less to the candidates, they are advised to practice their time management skills.

Q:   What is the marking scheme of MET?

A:

The official marking scheme of MET will be prepared and released by the authorities. The details regarding the marking scheme is given below.

  • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) - 4 marks will be allotted to every correct answer, while 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. 
  • Numerical Answer Type Questions (NAT) Questions - 4 marks will be allotted to every correct answer. There is no negative marking.

MET slot booking facility will be available online at manipalotbs.com. No other mode will be used to conduct MET slot booking. Candidates will not be able book their slots offline. No additional time will be provided to the candidates for the slot booking.

No. MET hall ticket will not be available for the candidates in offline mode i.e., through post or in person. If the candidates are unable to log in and download the MET admit card, they are advised to contact the authorities immediately. MET admit card should be printed out and ready before the candidates report to the centre for the examination.

A:

If there is a case when two or more candidates secure the same marks in MET, then the authorities will follow the tie-breaking rules to allot the ranks accordingly. The rules will be followed in the given order.

  • Candidates who have higher marks in Mathematics will be allotted a higher rank.
  • If the tie still exists, then the candidates with higher marks in Physics will be given a higher rank.
  • If the tie has still not broken, then the candidates with higher marks in Chemistry will be allotted a higher rank.
  • If the tie still persists, then the candidates with higher marks in 10th standard PCM will be allotted a higher rank.
  • Finally, if the tie is still not broken, then the candidates who are older will be given a higher rank.

If the candidates are not satisfied with their MET seat allotment, then they can forgo their allotment and participate in the next round of counselling. In the next round, the candidates can edit the order of their preferences as per their wishes and participate in counselling and seat allotment process. Eligible candidates will be able to participate in all rounds of MET counselling.
